I'm at my wit's end. I have browsed help topics and done my own troubleshooting endlessly, and nothing seems to work. I keep coming painfully close to implementing my tilesets properly, but it never works. I'm done trying to figure this out on my own, can anyone help me?

I read that a tileset needs to be 512x512 pixels. I've done that. No dice.

Every time I implement my tiles into a tileset to use, they always get chopped up like this. The ones that are intact don't represent their actual image at all and oftentimes I just end up with blank squares. I click and drag and get even stranger results (sometimes the actual tile renders correctly though, imagine that!), almost as if the program thinks I'm using an autotile.. but I'm not. I didn't assemble it as an autotile. I don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance for reading this, I hope someone can shed some light and I can move on and actually get some work done.

Not exactly - that is only true for the B to E slots, but it doesn't workt with the A#-tiles.
Check the help file, resources. there are six different formats for tilesheets, the formats A1 to A5 and the format for upper layer tiles in B to E.

Each of the A-Slots requires a very special and unique format that consists of tiles in different sizes (between 32x32 for decorations and 192x96 for animated autotiles) that have to be placed exactly as defined.

Export one of the A1-tiles with the resource manager to see how a sheet for A1 has to look like, and do the same for the other Autotile-Slots.

The A tiles are autotiles. B and beyond are regular tiles. Different formats.

Hm, it's not strange the program thinks it's an autotile when it's on A, which is for... well, autotiles. (With an exception, A5) You have to import the tilesets on B-E.

My tilesets aren't on A, i made a point of avoiding A for that reason. I'll have to try this, thanks a lot everyone :)

Your screenshot says otherwise.  You've got to put something on the A slots anyway, otherwise there's no layering.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
