You need a condition branch, if time=0(in your situation it will need to be in a parallel proc common event, have another event start the timer, and turn on a switch, that triggers the common event).

aaronator, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

Please edit your post and add the extra information, rather than posting twice in a row.

You don't need scripts. Just give us screenshots of your event so we can figure out what you've missed.

In fact if you have several questions and you want a timer on each of them, I don't even know if you need a parallel process event. You probably do, at some point, because you need to have the timer being checked at the same time as the input window is open.

In case you're not sure how to take screenshots and load them up here, I'll include the following information. Make sure your screenshot includes the WHOLE event window (not just the list of commands), and if you have several pages for your event, include all pages. Also, if you are using two events - one for the questions and one for the timer, provide screenshots for both events.

How to take a Screenshot:

You've heard people say to take a screenshot, but how does one take a screenshot of their game? Simple, while the game is running, hit the Prt Scr button on your keyboard, which is located right next to your F12 key. If you're using a laptop, you might have to use the Fn key in combination with the Prt Scr key to get it to work.

Now that you've pressed the button, it's time to paste this screenshot into an image editing software. If you don't have anything fancy such as Adobe Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET, no worries; you can use MS Paint instead. Open up your image editing software, create a new file, and then hit ctrl+v on your keyboard, or simply right click on the screen and select paste. This should instantly paste the screenshot into your image editing software. You can go ahead and crop the image to suit your needs, or if you don't even know what that means, you can just upload it as it is.

Save the image as a PNG, or if you really need to, as a high quality JPG.

How to upload the image to the forums

Now that you have you have an image on your computer you'd like to show us, how can you get it to show up on the forums? Firstly, you need to find an image hosting site, photobucket.com or imageshack.us are popular ones. If you have another image uploading website, great - use that one! Either way, upload it to the site, and then get the direct link. Don't get the resized link, or the thumbnail link, but the direct URL. You'll know you have the direct URL if the URL ends with the file extension you saved your image in (which will hopefully be .png).

Once you have this direct URL to your image, simply use the IMG tags in your forum post and paste the URL in between them. If this image is big, please leave the image in spoiler tags.

I'm sorry for making a double post, so here's my problem.

I need to make a quiz game which needs a countdown timer like this photo < https://imageshack.com/i/idK5TUs6p >

and after the countdown timer is done (which is 00:00) nothing is happening, i want the question and choices to be removed, and there will be a pop up

"Time is up!" after the countdown timer is done.

And here's my problem < https://imageshack.com/i/iqG0BGD0p >

the question and choices is still there even the timer is already done. i want it to be removed after the timer is done and it will go to next question.

And these are the events and its contents.

Sorry for my bad English. Thank you for your response and sorry again about the double post. I will take time to read it and in will not happen again.

Thanks in advance Ms. Shaz

EDIT:  :o   :o   :o  Just saw the date. Sorry for necroposting.

Maybe this will help you a little.

Had a similar issue, @Andar helped me to solve it.

I figured it out how a timer can be correctly set up.

To understand it, you HAVE to know:

1] How Self Switches and multi page events work

2] What a conditional branch is and how it works.

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/51-event-system-support-expert-users-only/?p=365266

Everything you might need, so you can understand it, can be answered here.

Do not post on that thread.

We are all here to help each other including you and I am excited I figured things out (at last) for timer!

I will gladly help you understand that too.

Well when I research something I REALLY do research it.

And if I find something, I share the knowledge. ;)

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
