I am using Jiffy's inventory plugin and for some reason one part doesnt work. (RPG maker MV, I am using yep core engine, but I dont think this is a proble since everything else works)

The plugin is amazing, but there is only one detail that isn't changing: "windowItemCategoryY"

Doesn matter the number I put there, it wont move. The X value changes, everthing else works, the only value that doesnt move is the "windowItemCategoryY".

One person had modify this plugin and added the "help window modification" that wasnt an option before on the plugin (since I have no idea about programming, it was a miracle that it worked), but the "windowItemCategoryX" not changing "error" was even before the addition of the "help window modification".

I add the plugin already modify.



BTW: If I delete the sub categories of the Item scene (like I saw someone suggesting), like direct deleting from the window. js, it will bug the program? I have no use for them.

Please remember that this is an international site, so people have different work/sleep/leisure patterns. A bit of patience is always needed.

One thing that might help would be to edit your post to include a link to the web page where you got that plugin. That way if people need to check something before offering a suggestion, they won't have to go hunting for it, an activity that might put some off from helping, as they don't want to spend their time searching around the internet.

The Y value of the Item Category window is being set to match the height of the Help window within the inventory scene. So, as the plugin is currently written, the Y value of the Item Category window will always be set to the windowHelpheight option, totally ignoring the windowItemCategoryY option. You will not be able to put the Item Category window above the Help window. You can set windowHelpheight to 0, and then you can set windowItemCategoryY to whatever you want.

Hi

I tried but it doesn't work. :frown:

I took some screenshots: the 01 and the 02 images are from the original plugin. (https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/jif-grid-inventory.79104/ )And even in those the Y value of the Item Category window just doesn't move.

The image 03 and 04 is from the modified plugin and the even when I changed the windowHelpheight to 0, the Y of the Item Category window doesnt move.

But thank you for answering =)

Ah, I believe that I see the problem. The 'windowHelpheight' variable is not even being used. Change the following line near the very bottom of the plugin file :

Code:
Window_Base.prototype.initialize.call(this, windowHelpX, windowHelpY, windowHelpWidth, height);
Change the 'height' argument to 'windowHelpheight'.

wow it worked, thank you! Good eye ^^. I can move the Y Item Category window but like you said before, the number I put there makes no difference, what will determinate its location is the windowHelpheight value, it changes both now.

I took the screens to show two different values and how it looks in the end: 05 & 06; 07 & 08.

For curiosity, this dependency is breakable? can the "Y Item Category window" have no conection with the" windowHelpheight" value?

The code of the plugin would need to be changed a bit to allow the options to be properly applied.

@Ossra I LOVE IT :kaoluv:! This is amazing and you did in such a short period of time. There are not enough words to thank you for your trouble!! And you add more possibilities, I LOVE IT! There is just one thing that I am noobing, I cant make the name "item" appear on the window, what number should I put there?

@Ossra oh I saw whats going on, I changed the number of columns to 40 and them to 10 and I notice that it conflicts with the name of the category: "itens", "weapons",etc. Their spacement are linked.

@Binel I removed the Inventory column option and replaced it with the Item List Window > Item List Icon > Icon Spacing option. In this way it will always show the icon with a number in the proper place. You can space out the icons further or pack more icons onto each row using the Icon Spacing option. The Column option is only for the Item Category Window now.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
