(Please feel free to move this wherever it actually goes. Again, I apologize in advance.)

Hello, everyone! You can call me Jeyson.

I'm a rather ambitious fellow of 27 years who is currently in the early stages of designing a rather interesting game using VX Ace that will play unlike most generic games on the engine.

The only problems are, there are 50 pages of scripts to go through, I'm a pixel artist, I am not a programmer nor scripter, I don't have the right kind of mind to be such, and I honestly don't want to look through every single page. I do apologize if that makes me sound like I'm coming off somewhat arrogant. I just really want to start getting this current project off the ground as soon as possible. Though I'm not in "TOO" much of a hurry, since I have a full-time job and a wedding to plan. Busy adulthood.

Anyways...

The ideas I have so far basically go like this:

Project Mjornil (working title) is a god simulation meets a village simulation meets an RTS meets an RPG meets wave based defense battles.

I'll give a brief summary of the game as well.

You're a newborn norse god of prosperity who, in order to prove your worth as next in line for the job, are set to the task by your fellow deities of creating a following of believers while helping them prosper and thrive while defending your town from the ever stronger attacks from the Romans to the south, as their advances north during the time of their imperialism threaten your way of life. This will eventually lead to having to battle their deities as well.

Fail this task you are given, and you will be swiftly disowned as a god and transformed into a regular mortal until you die.

Some of the features I need programmed:

I would like to have mouse capabilities that allow the player to click on units and buildings and GUI and interact with them through mouse input and very little keyboard input; in other words, for the most part, no arrow keys.

The player should be able to click on a unit and tell it where to go by clicking a button on the mouse, and the unit will follow using A* pathfinding. (mouse and pathfinding)

The player's god character levels up as he fulfills quests given to him by the elder of the village who speaks for the people. (quest system)

As the player levels up, he gains new powers that help him better care for and defend his or her village, in which his or her shrine is kept. This basically will be either a skill tree or progressional skills you unlock as you gain levels.

An interesting idea I would love to implement is that of spiritual possession.

Basically, once the player reaches a certain level, you can then research a skill called Divine Intervention (name is WIP).

What this skill would allow you to do is take direct control of an NPC. This would boost their stats slightly.

Also, while possessing someone, you can call others of that type to you. For instance: you possess a warrior while he is fighting a wave of roman foot soldiers. This warrior is having a hard time. All other warriors are fighting other romans. However, this warrior specifically is in a spot where, should he die, you would be left wide open. So, you tell him to shout out for help. A few nearby warriors answer the call for backup.

Another example: You're building a watch tower near the outskirts of your village. You can possess a builder to have him rally more builders and get the building built faster at an increased cost of wood or gold or both.

And another one: You need food, and quick. You just survived a hard wave of roman onslaughtery and are down warriors, archers, healers, mages, etc.. You get the point. However, training them takes resources: food and gold, and wood in the case of archers. So, you possess a forager/farmer and gather a group of farmers/foragers to more quickly gather the food you need.

If the possessed NPC dies, the player is expelled immediately from that body and returned to their lofty perch. They must wait for a cool down timer of say... 5 minutes, before they can possess again.

There would also be a faith aspect that would come into play.

Another needed mechanic would be the inclusion of a trading/mail system in the way of traveling caravans to the south. They would bring resources when they arrive again as well as news from other towns.

Other towns may send quests to you.

The reasons I have posted this here are: to find out if there are scripts that already exist that could help me, to implore you guys to possibly script these systems for me, or to even find someone who would be willing to help me make this game all the way through to the end.

As for the release, for now, I'm considering this to be a free game.

Mods, do what you will, but please tell me what you decide. Whether it be that I have incorrectly formatted this post or that it needs edited, or whether you have deleted it, or if you have moved it and to where. Please and thank you.

Don't forget, aspiring writers: Personality isn't what your characters do, it is WHY they do it.
Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
