*chuckle* Not hardly! What is it with ass corps and claiming tyrannical rule over single words? Didn't Facebook try this with "book"? Did they win?
The wordplay is greatly appreciated! Also about their barking, they must be hot under the collar, so to say.
You clearly knew what I meant right? =/Trademarks - not copyrights.
If you're going to try to sway people with your opinions on IP matters, you have to learn the basics and know what it is that is being debated: Copyrights, Trademarks, and Patents are all forms of protection. Each of them has different laws, different degrees of protection, and different 'lifetimes'.
Hopefully this is true; it would've been a new low for humanity. I value creative freedom above just about everything else. How dare anyone impose restrictions on something that should be free for everyone? To impede one's right to freely express themselves... it's a crime against humanity itself. So, The CEO of Disastercake just sent me a message... Apparently King dropped their trademark(s)...?????
Ah well.. Thanks to all who signed the petition. I suppose somebody at King grew a brain.
....???
Admins/Mods, go ahead and close this, I suppose... unless you see this thread fit for some further discussion...
For most things like this, I use Mailinator (any similar tool will work as well) to prevent giving out my email address, as well as a made up living address. No (e)mail spam that way!Hopefully this is true; it would've been a new low for humanity. I value creative freedom above just about everything else. How dare anyone impose restrictions on something that should be free for everyone? To impede one's right to freely express themselves... it's a crime against humanity itself.
I might've signed the petition, but I was a little wary of all the information they asked for...![]()
...What is wrong with people?
And... they legally obliterated him, I assume?BTW, the whole trademark-over-common-words thing HAS happened before, sadly... See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_Games , who's founder claims exclusive rights over the world "Edge" in video game titles. Luckily (for developers, not for him), he tried to sue Electronic Arts.
One of the few times you'll see the word "troll" show up in a legal decision. The judge described the actions of Edge Games as "trolling various gaming-related industries for licensing opportunities".And... they legally obliterated him, I assume?
