In my game, the story splits into many different directions. It's based around choices and depending on the choices you've made, you will go down a specific character path. So the first part of the game will always be similar each play through, but at a certain point, the story will completely change. Think an RPG with a Visual Novel twist. The story is set in a land where the government has powerful creatures dictate the people and control them. Many people do not quite no about the creatures, just that they must never stray too far away from their village, unless they have specific permission from the government. The story follows Kazuki, a boy from a village in the far east. One of the player routes includes his best friend Daisuke. When their village is attacked and destroyed by the creatures, he is determined to find out their purpose and bring an end to them. It eventually turns into a quest to bring down the government. That is how the main route goes (Daisuke's route is the main route). Along the way Kazuki runs into many people who he does quests with and for from time to time. By doing quests with these people, he increases his relationship with them (quests increase a relationship by 2 and correct dialogue choices increase relationship by 1). Once the relationship between a character and Kazuki has reached 15, it is determined that you will enter their route. Once you reach said characters route, you will follow their story. You will find out about that characters back story, find out what obstacles that them and Kazuki have to over come and just how that character develops. You must complete all character routes to unlock the final route, which can be selected from the main menu and will tie all loose ends and end the whole story with a bang.
*WARNING* Very Crude map made in ms Paint. It's not my actual map, I have several versions drawn by hand, but don't have a Scanner. It'll just help when I go through the plot.
Mountains are brown, Forests are Dark Green, plains are light green, desert in yellow, snowy in grey. Red dots signify cities or places of interest.
Setting:
This story will take place similar to the early bronze age for equivalent technology, probably some sailing ships, but not the type you'd go exploring the ocean with necessarily. Astronomy isn't a big thing yet, at least not enough to navigate without land in sight. The world has 3 races of intellectuals, the humans, dwarves and elves. Humans inhabit the norther planes, dwarves the mountains to the east, and elves in the great woods to the south. Dwarves are much more honor driven, prideful, and master smithies. Elves are much closer to nature, much more humble, and are much more nomadic as a peoples. Humans are a bit of everything. The humans mainly live on the north side of the 'great bay'. Their lack of respect of dwarven craft tends to raise tensions with the dwarves, and lack of consideration for nature to raise tension with the elves.
Dwarves are ruled by a monarchy, with a king being the greatest law of the land, but can only make decisions brought to him by the stewards. The stewards are generally guild leaders in their respective crafts.
Elves are ruled through family tradition, with the patriarchs of each great house being generally in charge of formal decisions, though they tend to be open to the opinions of their children.
Humans are ruled through an empire created through conquered kingdoms in and around the great bay, up to the mountains of the dwarves and wood of the elves. There will probably also be some generic caravan eastern silk traders in there somewhere.
At the point in time, there is great tension between everyone, but there is an effort to make peace between the dwarves and humans especially, with a young elven patriarch to lead the peace talks.
Story:
Our adventure is centered around a young half elf named William, or Bill for short. His mother is human and his father an elven patriarch. Although his parents get along fine, his grand parents were never to big on the union. They would fight over who's culture he would be raised apart of, and whenever they raised their voices over an issue, Bill's parents often found a way to equally insult them both. In the case of his name, William, one side did not want him to have a human name, the other side had a long standing grudge against a man named Bill from their village.
For lack of better place to put it, His mother's name was Isabelle. she is more or less inconsequential to the plot of the story. His father is named Jinton (subject to change), as stated, an elven patriarch, and happens to be in charge of the peace talks, as he led the peace between the humans who are allowed to live in the woods and the elven people.
The story follows our young (17 probably) Bill, as he explores a cave near his home. The cave was known to be very shallow, and kids often played near it. However, there was a land slide the night before, and it's integrity came into question. Bill was sent to check it out, make sure it was still alright. Eventually he discovers another part of the cave is opened up, and leads to a ruins beneath. In these ruins he finds a young elven girl, we'll call her Jules, who seems very out of place. She is looking for a pendant that she lost, saying it was something important given to her by her grandmother. After finding it on some generic boss at the depths of the cave, you find the cause of the land slides.
Her charm had teleported her from a ruins near her home (an island to the west of the main land) and had caused the land slides when it resonated with a large crystal in the cave. The crystal was glowing with a faint light when you arrived, and when you go to check it out, it teleports you back to the island, and then shatters, preventing your return. Crystals will lead you to be able to use magic, and the element of the magic will depends on the color of the crystal. Each crystal will have a set of offensive and defensive abilities that vary. They would be equipped to a slot on armor or weapons to gain these effects, but this is for later. To find his way home, bill enlists the help of Jules, who, through a ceremony he doesn't quite understand at the time, is now his fiance, to see about constructing a vessel to make it back. Bill is very knowledgeable about astronomy, and with the help of the people on this island, is able to develop a method to navigate his way back home. Through some event or another, the ship is unsailable afterwords, and they end up in the empirical lands. Actually, lets have them get home by exploring a ruins on the island and finding another teleporter. they get teleported to a shrine near the capital city of the empire, in a room with a blazing red crystal. You run into security and beat them, then escape. Travels take them, eventually and through many a quest and one or two new companions, to the capital of the empire. He then finds through a rumor that his father, the peace delegate, is not there, that he has been captured by the dwarves and is being used to stall the peace process while they prepare to attack.
Obviously, you go to find him. After sneaking into and being caught by dwarves, you are in the presence of the dwarf king, who happens to recognize your likeness to your father, a friend of his. You discover that your father is being held captive by one of the lords in the empire. You don't know for sure, but it seems that the lord acted on his own, intent upon creating an excuse for war between their peoples. You set out to rescue him. You rescue him, and one of your companions, a knight of one of the other lords of the land that you met somewhere along the line in an important event, goes to tell his lord of the trechory. you, yourselves, return to the dwarves to discuss the happenings. The humans of the one lord then rebel against the empire, raising an army to bring the other lord to justice, or bring down the empire if they cannot. The dwarves take the opportunity to march on the empire themselves, hoping to force them to make concessions during peace talks. Having discovered recently the uses of the crystals, you decide to take some time to go to a shrine in the dwarf kingdom where the ice crystal is sealed. After opening the crystal chamber via some monstrous monstrosity being slain, some type of spirit of the ice crystal warns you of the evil it has kept sealed away in the north now escaping, using the crystal to spread it's darkness and take control of people. Exit and see a giant explosion as the chancelor of the empire, the one who sent you after your father in the dwarven lands, lays waste to the rebel army camp in a massive blast using the fire crystals power.
as you return to the dwarf camp and admire the pristine new lake on the overworld, you talk to the dwarf king. After the discussion, you decide an all out attack on the shrine is necessary sooner than later. They decide that the crystal needs time inbetween such attacks, as they were not currently residing in a newly formed lake bed themselves, and mount an assault. You fight your way to the crystal room and assault the chancelor. You 'win' but the chancelor using magic to hand your rears to you. *important note on the use of magic* To use magic, you must envision what you want to do, and the crystal will respond in it's own element. The father, Jinton, to save his family, thinks sacrifice. he summons a pheonix from the crystal, which consumes him to nothing but ashes and heals the party while destroying the chacelor. Bill, knowing this was all caused by whatever was sealed in the northern lands, decides to dedicate himself to finding the rest of the great crystals (the fire crystal is now consumed), and preventing them from being used by this monster while at the same time seeking a way to gain access to the northern continent to destroy it himself.
The rest of the game will consist of something similar to the first Final Fantasy, hunting down these power houses and finding means of transportation. I obviously cut the story up into very small bits and pieces, and overly summarized it, but it's a long story. I have 4 pages of events on the main story alone without writing anything specific for the other characters as back story. (hand written pages, maybe just 2 pages typed at 12 point font). Also, this story is only part of a greater history of this land. There is a separate story for the founding of the empire and it's empress, and a much more open ended tale that I originally wanted to tell as an MMO type storyline.
If you would, I would love feedback on the story. It's very rough as it's written here. I have a much greater idea of what I want to do with it in my head and written in a couple places, but it's a decently long story, and didn't know how much attention span everyone would have. Feel free to contact me via email @ some1else1014@gmail.com if you were very interested and wanted to talk in more detail about it.
Your story does seem to have an established and interesting premise, however where I think you are lacking is in the beginning. Though I'm sure you've got some twisties and turnies in store for the player, the beginning sounds just a tad 'heard it before' and a bit of an excuse to get the plot into motion.
In my opinion, this is a mistake. For the first half hour/hour of the game, it sounds like there is no driving plot other than 'explore cave' and 'return home'. I'm not saying this is always bad. It's possible to make this predictable prologue both pivotal to the main story and a hook for the player. If you're able to play with the audience's expectations, and put your own spin on the 'accidentally entangled main character', all the more power to you!
Other than that, your brief descriptions of the different tribes sound quaint, if not archetypal. Just ensure that you breathe a new air into these precedented ideas to give the game it's own flavour.
New idea! As I sharpen my RPGM skillz, I'm going to make several small games that follow a continuous story. I'm putting this up because, after some future refinement, I might combine them all (Hoping to make 5 "Chapters") into one solid game. I want it to revolve around a single main character, and many secondary characters that join and leave him throughout the chapters. He is a veteran member of an internationally renowned mercenary company, and is contracted out to a new assignment in each of the chapters. He will have past experiences, possibly an ex-soldier ordered to commit immoral acts, that leave him capable of fighting well but incapable of appreciating life or even finding true value in his own.
Basic, right? Well the trick is, he IS in a mercenary company, doing what he has to for pay. This means doing deeds more in the "grey" area of morality, depending on how you look at it. I want him to, throughout the chapters, develop an inner struggle between the way he has been living and viewing life, and the way he will learn to view it, a type of life he's actually trying to obtain, if only subconsciously.
Examples: Chapter one (Which is almost finished... pretty short, mainly did it just to get software experience) he is contracted out to a self-governed island that has a bit of a dragon problem. Slay the dragon story... pretty standard and overplayed, yeah? Well, you discover through plot advancement that the evil, village destroying dragon is actually the last of its kind, a once wise and peaceful race, both powerful and beautiful. The original settlers of the island decided to conquer it from the dragon tribes that originally existed there, eventually hunting them down to supposed extinction. This final dragon lashes out against its conquerors, knowing only that humanity took its land and hunted its kin. The hero may feel a moral opposition to killing it. However, if he doesn't kill it, he doesn't get paid, which means he doesn't eat or live even an average human existence.
Chapter two (Just now in the works), his team is sent to a nation engaged in rebellion. A demented empress has created a society wherein the upper class live lavish and effortless lives, whereas all beneath them play forced slaves, working and dying for meager rations. The people finally muster the courage and means to rise up against their oppressors, following a great leader that dared to rally the people and defy the empress. Trick is, it's the empress that has hired our hero. It's his teams job to fight on the side of cruelty and greed, and break a people that only fight to balance their nation and save their families.
Sorry to write a novel here, I'm just curious how you all feel about this idea. Is "Chapters" a dumb way to work it out? Is the idea too cliche, or already been done too much before? Any ideas on how I can further express this theme in the story, or WHATEVS!?
Just wanna ask ya'll how mainstream/cliche this broad plot is. Either way i'll keep it, but just want to get some insight while I work, and maybe some more ideas.
King forces princess (main character) to marry his finest general
Princess flees after an encounter with said general. Meets some random guy character who she stays with and ends up liking.
General's men find them and imprisons the guy. King sees his daughter as committing treason (and doesn't like her, whereabouts of the mother is a mystery) so he imprisons her with the guy.
Princess's loyal bodyguard frees them, they escape, trying to find out what happened to the princess's mother/where she is. Along going through some towns, some people help you, some knights chase you. You fight the general dude but he gets away for later.
Haven't fully thought about what happens next, but maybe they found out the king killed her cause she tried to do something good he didn't like cause he's corrupt and stuff, so they go beat the general dude and dethrone the king. While doing so, some knights are still loyal to the princess and help you.The end.
I was thinking half of my enemies could be different character-generated sprites that would be animated n stuff through Takentai, cause half of my enemies are monsters and half of my enemies will be people.

I like it. Not insanely unique, (not to be offensive), but I love the more political story concepts. Add a shady organization that's pulling the strings through the king for one reason or another and BAM! Plot twist!
Prologue that I'd like Feedback on (More of the story is to be altered alot, or to be kept secret.)
Please read this first: (helps you understand the plot a bit more)
Game world:
Game takes place in: Cyfandir, Arum (to be confirmed)
Protagonists:
Main protagonist: Vain Doloner
Other protagonist(s): Siria Elvir, (to be added)
Terms:
Outlaw Campement: A settlement of people who've been banished from Cyfandir
Shaman: Caster of magic
Reader: A machine that uses magic energy to read where someone comes from, age and more
Dimension Rift: A crack in the boundaries of two or more dimensions which makes it possible for matter to be exchanged.
PROLOGUE
Vain is blasted out of a second dimension into the universe of Arum (no confirmation yet though), and lands safely in the snow. He is covered in wounds 'n blood, and is unconscious.
A scout from a nearby Outlaw Campement saves Vain from a cold death up on the mountain. He takes Vain to the camp.
A girl in the camp, Siria, looks over Vain. She cures his wounds, cleans him and makes sure he gets enough food and water.
As Vain 'revives' from death, and is awake more and more, he learns how to hunt, craft etc. (Introducing the possible skills to do!)
However, now Vain is fully conscious, he discovers that something is not right: He cannot recall anything that has happened before he got blasted onto the mountain. A local Shaman tries to find out what is going on in Vain's brain, but senses no more than Fog, that won't release the memories.
When a 'Reader' is checking Vain, they find out that Vain appears to be a so-called Firstborn: the first ones to settle down in Cyfandir, nine thousand years ago. The Reader explodes, as he can't handle scans that have to go through such old bodies (they're very sensitive, you know!).
A local Researcher has a theory about Vain: He thinks somehow Vain got trapped in a Dimension Rift, and got frozen in time. Somehow, he lost all of his memory in there, and got injured by something, or someone. He appeared to find out how to get out of there, and BOOM, blasted on the mountain.
Vain is determined to find his memory back, and is willing to find a solution once he's strong enough to travel big distances.

It sounds somewhat mainstream with the whole "Something happens to Guy and ends up in Place with amnesia so he doesn't know what happened." I like the sci-fi aspect to it though. Since this is just an intro, I suspect the plot and stuff makes quite a few turns and twists, and it makes me question what kind of antagonist force there will be. That will be a good surprise. Keep working on it. =)
I love the Suikoden Series and I have played I-V and beaten most of them. I decided that I wanted to make a fan game that had the feel of Suikoden with RPG Maker VX Ace. I have decided that it will either take place in the New Armies Kingdom or the Holy Harmonian Kingdom. I know that both of these place have not really been detailed in any of the games, so it give me some freedom in where I want the towns, cities, dungeons, etc. Other than that there is still alot that I have left to do.
Story and Such:
The main character will be a female that lives on the streets of the capital. She will have a small band of friends that help her, these characters do the dirty work to keep the capital running so to speak. One day she takes on a task that involves killing the prince of the royal family because he is working to kill his father, who found out. She takes her friends with her until they get to the prince's room and go inside only to find out that he has already been killed by someone else. The guards bust in and take them all in, blaming them for killing the prince and throw them into the dungeon. This is when she decides to take a stand and stop the corrupt government from running the world...
That sounds like a great game idea! I'm interested to know what would happen after that- If the King wanted the death of the prince, would he do anything to help out the main character? Does the government work with the king, or are they separate?
My lame idea: Basically it's/it'll be a game based on Little Red Riding hood. You play as Red, and you're making your way through the forest on your own to your grandmother's house. You get caught up in a dispute between the wolf ( who's more of a wolf-boy in this game) and the hunter, who are trying to kill each other for different reasons. You can choose to side with either of them, affecting the ending of the game. ( there will be four endings, a good and a bad for each side) Collecting all of a certain item ( a special kind of flower) will lead to a fifth ending where the outcome is positive for both sides.
It'll be more or less of a puzzle game, but it also heavily focuses on story.
Here's my idea, which I'm simply calling Mirror, in it's current form:
SETTING:
It's a fantasy world mixed with a few elements of steampunk; kind of fantasy on the verge of an industrial revolution, I guess. There are four major countries on the world's continent, and a number of outlying islands that are considered territories of those four countries. For hundreds of years, those countries have been periodically at war with each other, vying for land and resources. In recent years, the outlying territories have also made attempts to incite revolutions and gain their independence, but have so far been unsuccessful. With all that's been going on, the world is rife with political and military tension. In response, some leaders have been taking preemptive measures to secure their borders, some even declaring a state of martial law, in some extremes. As the people's rights are slowly and methodically stripped away by their governments, unrest breeds. In addition to the human turmoil, a new phenomenon has been taking place across the world. Rifts have been appearing at ancient religious sites, gateways to somewhere beyond the realm of known reality. Strange beings have been using these rifts to enter the world, wreaking havoc upon the local populations. They seem to come with a purpose, though, but no one seems to know what it is. An expeditionary party has been sent into at least one of the rifts, but never returned, due to the rift closing behind them without warning.
Magic isn't particularly common in the world, but it is present, however. Those who are gifted with it are often regarded with both a sense of wonder and suspicion, and are even sometimes tricked or otherwise bound into using their powers for someone else's personal benefit. Just as many, knowing of this practice, turn to the dark arts to defend themselves, or even turn the tables on would-be dishonest clients and employers.
Despite magic being relatively rare, there is a pervasive belief throughout the world in something called the Elder Dark. To most people, the Elder Dark is nothing more than a myth, or a way of rationalizing certain events that occur in the world. To others, though, such as the Keepers, a clandestine sect of magically-gifted people who have devoted their lives to the documentation of all aspects of life and death, the Elder Dark is very real. Some say it's a physical place, others say it's more like a certain state of existence, somewhere between or beyond life and death. Still others consider it an abstract omniscient sentience that guides the destiny of the world through subtle manipulation of probability lines.
The Elder Dark keeps the balance of power, of Light and Darkness, Good and Evil, in the world; but what happens when the scales tip too far in one side's favor?
A Mirror is created.
And that's where this story begins, on a dark and stormy night...
CHARACTERS:
Name: Kade Gender: Male Age: Unknown (looks early-to-mid 20s) Personality: Somewhat aloof, Kade is prone to brooding and keeping most of his inner thoughts to himself. However, he seems driven by some internal priority or deadline that even he himself can't truly explain or understand. Biography: Kade is an enigma, a mystery. There is no record of him anywhere in the world, and no one seems to know where he came from, or exactly when. It's as if he just suddenly appeared out of nowhere one day.
Kade is actually a Light Mirror: A being created by the Elder Dark to restore the balance of Light and Darkness in the world. He was created very recently for that sole purpose, and after he has accomplished that task, he will dematerialize, and return to the Elder Dark. His purpose isn't to eliminate Darkness in the world, though; only set it back, and give the Light a chance to regain the upper hand- at which time, a Dark Mirror will be created to reset the scale.
Name: Rina Gender: Female Age: 22 Personality: Rina is very kind and compassionate, and shies away from violence. She detests those who use violence as anything but an absolute last resort, for when their personal safety is obviously in immediate danger. She can be somewhat naive, but has a strong maternal instinct to protect and support those she cares about. Biography: Raised in a small village near the southern border of Numaea, she was adopted by her uncle after her parents died when she was still an infant. Seeing her natural talent for magic, even at a young age, her uncle encouraged her to cultivate it, allowing her to study under the village's local priestess. Studying under her, Rina became an adept healer and protector of the village, along side the priestess, but also learning to still be careful who she reveals her magic to.
- She is one of Kade's two potential romantic interests in the game.- Her uncle is actually a Keeper, and knows more about the Elder Dark and Kade's origins than he first lets on.
Name: Shari Gender: Female Age: 20 Personality: A sharp wit paired with a sharp tongue, Shari is outspoken and somewhat wary of strangers. Competitive by nature, she sees thieving as a high-stakes game, and holds a high opinion of her ability to judge her marks and the value of their possessions. Biography: Already a professional thief at a young age, Shari has connections and fences in most major cities. She took up thieving as a lifestyle in attempt to be able to support herself more fully and become more independent after her father, a merchant, went bankrupt.
- She is the other of Kade's two potential romantic interests in the game.
- One side-quest involves helping to free her father from his enormous debt.
Name: Azriel Gender: Male Age: 27 Personality: No stranger to violence, he's not afraid to take action when he thinks it will resolve a dangerous or problematic situation quickly. His experiences as a slave have made him empathetic towards any victims of mistreatment, and rather suspicious of and sometimes aggressive towards high-class citizens of any nation. Biography: A former slave, Azriel escaped from slavery in his late teens, only to end up falling into the criminal underworld soon after. He spent time on the streets of Zekiah as a small-time miscreant, committing petty theft and the occasional mugging. Later he found his way into the fight pits as a combatant in the city's brutal underground bloodsport scene. He continues to earn money and look for a way to free his brother from slavery.
- One side-quest involves freeing his brother from slavery.
Name: Verik Gender: Male Age: 25 Personality: As Kade's near polar-opposite, Verik is easy-going, laid-back and quite friendly, if a little cocky. He's willing to give most people the benefit of the doubt, but tends to take offense from strangers and new acquaintances somewhat personally, as he likes to try to make a good impression on people as much as possible. Biography: Born and raised in one of the nomadic clans inhabiting the western foothills and forests of the Leiknisch river valley, he learned to hunt early on, and is skilled with a variety of ranged weaponry. Becoming a respected member of the clan, he looks for a way to help keep the peace with the other clans.
- One side-quest involves helping him prevent a war between the Leiknisch clans.
PLOT:
The game starts off with Kade being found unconscious by Rina during an overnight storm. Taking him in, she patches him up and learns that he has no memory of any time before about two weeks ago. Hoping his memory will return in time, Kade helps out around the village, until Rina is told by the village priestess that there is no more she can teach her, and suggests she go to the capital to receive more instruction there. Thinking the trip will be good for Kade, too, the two of them set out for the capital. Once there, they meet Shari briefly in the marketplace, in the process of stealing something. Proceeding to the city's temple, Rina is just about to begin her training when the temple is attacked by the beings that have been coming through the rifts. Kade and Rina manage to fight them off, and the head priest of the temple advises them to go and try to close the rift that the beings came though, in order to prevent any more from coming trough and wreaking havoc in the area. On their way out, though, a crowd gathers, and accuses Rina of bringing the monsters down on the city, since several people witnessed her using magic during the fight. Before they can argue the point or prove their innocence, both Kade and Rina are arrested and held in jail, awaiting investigation and possible trial.
Once in the cells, the two meet Shari again, the thief having failed to pull off the earlier theft. Together, they concoct a plan to break out of the jail and head for the rift, like originally planned. Succeeding in escaping incarceration, the three make their way to the rift, intent on closing it and preventing any more monsters from coming through it.
And, the rest... I'm still working out the details- that's only about the first fifth or so of the game, I think, right now, in terms of plot progression. I have a rough idea of where I want it to go from there, but not enough of one to write up the whole plot line just yet. I figure that's good enough to start with, anyway, at least for plot and idea feedback purposes.
My lame idea: Basically it's/it'll be a game based on Little Red Riding hood. You play as Red, and you're making your way through the forest on your own to your grandmother's house. I'm also working on a LRRH game, but mine is a little different, as it involves other fairy tale characters as well. Anyway, I like your idea. Doesn't seem lame at all :3

You're a pirate under the command of a pirate captain, which I have no name of yet.
The captain and his crew, and you, just found a ancient temple. Being a pirate gang, you're raiding that temple.
The captain found a glowing medallion. The moment he removed it from the pedestal, he woke up a terrifying evil spirit lord.
The lord killed everyone in sight. You, were hiding during the spree. When you came out of hiding, you see everyone dead. And the ship destroyed.
The natives explained to you that the lord was a ancient god who wanted revenge on the humans, and you needed to find the other four ancient temple, get a piece of a weapon from each temple, then forge them into a weapon, which should be able to kill the lord.
You build a raft and sets out for the closest port to figure a way from world destruction.
I'm basing this on Rise 2: Dark Waters.
So the basic gameplay is that you rank up Toughness for Intimidating dialogue options, and Cunningness for talking around topics in dialogue options.
Steal stuff with a trained monkey too.
As for weaponry, I don't want the game to focus on getting new weapons like traditional RPGs. Slightly better perhaps, but nothing that overkills your older weapons for every city visited.
These are all drafts, though. I kind of game here looking for pirate-related icons and facesets,, but finding this thread, it seemed like a better idea to share the idea first.
Idea 2-
This was an idea I worked with during RPGMaker VX era. I was experimenting with events during this project.
You are basically a barrel, trying to avoid enemy sightm while sneaking through several stages. There wasn't much of a plot, really. But it worked nicely.
Stealth themed game, and no combat whatsoever. I found that interesrting to do in a RPG making program.
Well, details are subject to change, but the main gist is:
The game starts a day before the original fairy tale. You basically first need to do some shopping (how you get the items can differ, by some replies and actions), after which you are free to play for the rest of the day with Goldilocks (having her in your party will give you extra access to areas). The next day follows pretty much the original fairy tale, but depending on your actions the day before, as well as some things that very day, will give you a different ending.
It so far has only two battles (one being optional), as I'm not a battle fan. The game is more exploration based.
