Hi all! Just another noob question..

I've been using many great plugins from yanfly and himeworks.. The problem that I am facing now is the "Plugin Command" feature.

How do I go about using the Plugin Command feature? Where do I usually find it or rather use it? Can I get some screenshots (if possible) on how you do it on  your project?

example: yanfly's damage core plugin has plugin command feature you can use. I just dont know how to start using it and where to use it. x.x

Thank you in advance! :D

The use of the plugin command depends on the plugin you want to command - without plugin, that command has absolutely no use.

Because of this there is no general answer to your question, you can only ask how to use it specifically for a single plugin - and ask again for a different plugin.

And you need to link to the plugin for which you need help, because we can't know every plugin available.

Hi! Thanks for the fast reply!

I'm trying to use yanfly's damage core

http://yanfly.moe/2015/11/07/yep-25-damage-core/

and it got this feature:

Plugin Commands

The following are plugins you can use to set the damage cap rulings for your game. Keep in mind that individual aspects such as equipment traits, skill properties, etc. will take priority over these default caps.

Plugin Command:

SetDamageCap 9999
Sets the default damage cap to 9999.

SetHealingCap 9999
Sets the default healing cap to 9999.

EnableDamageCap
Enables default cap for both damage and healing.

DisableDamageCap
Disables default cap for both damage and healing.

Let's say I want to use SetDamageCap 9999, how do I go about using it? where should I paste/type it?

Do you have a problem with the basics here? Those plugin commands are simply placed into the text field of the event command named "Plugin Command".

Or do you have a problem with eventing? you place the event command depending on when you want the effect to take place - if you want the damage cap for the entire game, you place that command in an autorun on the first map and switch off that autorun after the plugin command. If you want to have the damage cap only temporarily, then you need to place the commands before the battle where you want the cap and place another plugin command after it.

You guessed it right. xp  I originally thought that it's something you can input inside the data base or somewhere in common event tab or notebox.

So if I get it correctly, let's say I want SetDamageCap 9999 to happen in a boss fight, ill just have to create an event in a tile of the map where the boss is and create plugin command from tab 3 and paste SetDamageCap 9999? Is this correct? And what do you mean by "and place another plugin command after it."?

Sorry for being noob about this. x.x

In a boss fight, you would place it in the boss event itself - the plugin command before and after the battle processing command.

And you need to place a different command after the fight, because otherwise the cap would still be in effect for all later fights.

For example if you want your regular fights with up to 99999 damage and your boss fights with max 800 damage, then you need to reduce the damage cap to 800 before the boss and rise it back to 99999 after the fight.

And please don't quote the entire topic when you answer, only quote what you are referring to or use the @YuiDemonia

is there any way to test this battle system without launching the game? from what I understand, the game doesn't load any plugin commands when just test fighting.
