I need a plugin that could animate say, 4 frames for idle and 8 frames for attacking.
Even if it can't do that, anything that animates front view would be a step in the right direction, I could commission someone to help me with my specific requirements. Does anyone here have any idea how to do this?

Hi there!

Is it an option if you just keep using the side view battle system, but just change the position of the battlers to be in front?
If yes, then you could just search for plugins that change the position of the battlers.

And with ULTRA Hud from SRD, you can easily build the front view battle window.

I've had Dragonbones suggested to me. I'm looking into that, although I sure wish it was more convenient.

Dragonbones is not too much for this?
I believe Theo made(or was making) a battle plugin that let you change the sprite sheet rules for Battlers. Like the number of frames, images,s, etc. But maybe you can also find one in the Japanese community.

Then, you can search for a plugin to change the positions of the sprites, if the Theo one already does not do that.

IIRC, VisuStella Battle Core allows you to use a sideview sprite sheet to animate enemies. Off the top of my head, I don't know whether or not it actually requires sideview battle mode, but you can check it out and see.

Do you think you could assist me in getting this to work? Possibly discuss it over Discord? I have Visustella, but I don't see a tutorial for this and am not sure where to start.

It's right in the Contents of the instructions. Under Notetags there's a section for "Animated Sideview Battler-Related Notetags."

While it allows you to use (a spritesheet in the format of) sidesheet battlers, it is nonspecific as to whether the notetags will only function in sideview battle mode. But it should be very simple to just put one on an enemy:
Code:
<Sideview Battler: Actor1_1>
and get into a battle to see if it does anything.

Whoever decided that the 5th area of Xenoblade 3 had to be THAT big and be explored in the manner it does needs to be shot. My OCD cannot leave a tiny shard of the map hidden and those controls can go right on and f*** themselves. -.-

Anyone know of any good guides for editing the UI in RMMV?
