What I thought was interesting about the plot for Black and White was that instead of "global domination" it was "Pokémon deserve to be free". And then Nintendo went and screwed all that up by the "big bad" of the games saying the only reason he wanted people to release their pokemon was because he wanted to be the only one with the creatures, so he could rule the world. This immediately made me facestairs for two reasons. 1. You just destroyed a perfectly interesting plot about freeing pokemon from servitude and whether or not they were actually serving people as slaves or as friends and partners. 2. The plan kind of falls to pieces when you realize that people can just catch mons anytime they want, you aren't destroying pokeball technology (which might have been an interesting plot turn, having the badguy target places that create and sell pokeballs, as well as target the people who create the pc systems and pokecenters. But, the developers don't really care much about plot... so... you know, interesting things get thrown out the window) so people could just catch new mons all over again and stop you. That, or you know, shoot you dead in the street. Whichever is easiest.hey not all the games have those gyms you know
But actually I don't think you're giving the games enough credit. I really thought that BW had amazing plots (as far as pokemon goes), and while BW2 weren't quite as good, I think it's improving. (and yes I loved Colosseum and XD they were so good except i hate double battles).
So, basically, they took what could've essentially been a great story about friendship and partners and working together... And made it about stopping a guy from achieving world domination (which has been the goal of almost every evil organization in the pokeuniverse aside from Magma and Aqua who were just a bunch of morons who never picked up a Science 101 textbook in their lives, despite their world possessing teleportation and energy storing mechanics well beyond our own). What they essentially did was like taking a fantastic movie like Pulp Fiction and then in the last 20 minutes of the movie, it turned into all the cast members throwing pies at each other and wearing rubber clown noses. It also negates anyone being able to count the plot of it as "different", since the goals of the big bad weren't different at all from previous versions. Which, in all honesty, is frustrating as hell.
As for White2/Black2... I've yet to beat either one of those games. I was interested and entertained with them until I left for the mainland and it plopped me down in places I'd been before while keeping me from going back to other areas I should have access to (like the starting area from Black/White). Though, I enjoyed the "continuation" feature they had where you could link the games to the previous games, I never went far enough into the games to experience it fully. I guess at some point, I'll have to sit down and complete them, but I just haven't felt like it. It kind of feels like playing Black/White again, which I really don't have the urge to do, considering I already played both versions once.
Oh, and I looked it up. No fire or water gym this time. There is a grass gym again though. We really need to have some underused types have their own gyms again... We currently have 18 types of Pokémon now. Most likely we'll have a Fairy gym dedicated to the new type. So, here's where this gets fun and I list the types that have had a gym and how many. Keep in mind that one of the gyms is Gen 1 is a Ground type and in Gen 2 it changes its type to "Mixed" when Blue runs it. Also keep in mind that one of the gyms in Black/White changes its type depending on what starter you chose.

Seems odd to me to have so many twos in there. Why have we still not had a Dark gym as well? I, for one, would love to see some of the most overused types in player parties be used as a gym set at some point. Dark, Ghost, Psychic in a lineup of gyms in the same game. Maybe even throw some Steel types in there and another Dragon. Maybe have the 8th gym be another "Mixed" type gym as well? That'd be interesting to do, since it would keep players from just putting the type advantage up first and thinking it could sweep the whole gym. Just something I'd like to see happen is all. I doubt it will, but still.
