What else are you buying? Before the second badge, I caught all but two pokemon that I could, plus had enough to buy a couple new hats, a shirt, and pants for my character.

Just Pokeballs, that's it.  Been buying Great Balls since I got my first badge and they became available.  You're looking at like 60+ mons caught with the things, and I haven't even gotten everything off of Route 9 or 8 yet.  I also don't have everything in the cave with the Fossils yet either.  This also isn't counting mons I caught with Luxury Balls or the random Ultra Ball I'd managed to get from Pickup.

Oh, I loved Cyrus, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't understand him as a whole. I felt his character was sometimes conflicting...but that's just an opinion.

Nuzlocke comics take forever to draw. End of story.

Sooo, what about that new Mystery Egg that's surfaced recently? I know I won't be Wonder Trading anytime soon ¬_¬

It's catch everything with pokeballs for me, or go home. <---------  Perfectionist Tryhard

It also helps save money so you can buy more potions / status heals.

Took me like 50 turns of pokeballs to catch a 1HP Paralyzed Heatran in Platinum before it could use Struggle suicide. So worth it to be pro.

My premium catching success was recently in HeartGold, when I came across shiny Suicune on my first try. I was down to a Dusk and a Quick Ball in the middle of the day. Caught it with the Quick Ball.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Back up. What's this about a Mystery Egg and how does it effect Wonder Trading?

Here's some info I found if anyone's interested:

:Since X and Y has been hacked, there have been rumors going around that people have been sending Pokemon over Wonder Trade which have turned into these Eggs. There have also been reports of them mysteriously appearing in games, with no reason why. As far as trading goes, the process goes smoothly, but once you actually receive said glitchy Pokemon, it TRANSFORMS into a “Mystery Egg” - or in the case of it randomly appearing, it'll just be there in a PC Box. This “Mystery Egg” acts sort of like a “Bad Egg” from previous generations. Basically it becomes an egg that can’t do anything. You can’t release it, trade it, or hatch it. It's an invalid checksum. The difference between an older “Bad Egg” and a “Mystery Egg”, though… is Mystery Eggs can multiply. They can also appear out of nowhere, with no warning. Mystery Eggs can corrupt the PC box that they're in and can also corrupt every Pokemon within that box, if they’re not moved. Here's a video with the Mystery Egg: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjsySmLeBS0 Here’s a thread discussing what may cause Mystery Eggs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/696959-pokemon-x/67695552 According to the video, he didn’t actually get it from Wonder Trading, but going through the comments and some forum boards, some people HAVE been affected by Wonder Trading. This is most likely due to corrupted Data that results in the egg being “created”. If you have a Mystery Egg, here are some of the things you should / shouldn’t do: 1. Do NOT touch the Mystery Egg! That means no checking moves, stats, anything. It may have an item attached, do not attempt to retrieve the item! 2. The box the Mystery Egg is in is immediately QUARANTINED. Immediately remove ALL Pokemon from the quarantined box. They can and WILL be corrupted if they remain in close proximity to the Mystery Egg. 3. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to withdraw the Mystery Egg. Do NOT attempt to hatch the egg either. 4. Your primary goal is to save all your Pokemon from infection. Treat a Mystery Egg like you would a zombie pathogen that spreads via air. Keep it as far away from EVERYTHING as you can.
Damn... well I won't be mystery trading for a while o,O

I'm wondering if it's maybe a failsafe built into the game that stops people from hacking pokemon into the game to begin with.  You know, try to trade a hacked mon or bypass the failsafe that wouldn't let you trade hacked mons, and it corrupts your game and the game of players you're sending hacked mons to.

If I were to guess, it shows up because someone tried to bypass the checksum in the trading code that doesn't allow "hacked" mons to be put up for trade.  Hacking the code and changing it to allow you to trade hacked mons could result in a faulty checksum or glitch in the code that renders a mon into that useless egg that corrupts the game.  Though, that would depend on how malicious the dev team wanted to be, or how far ahead they were thinking.

It can be a failsafe, but it is buggy anyway. You get punished by wondertrading with a "hacker". Did you knew the person, and that he was a hacker, and that the pokémon was hacked? Even checking stats or whatever, you can't expect players to care. There are ignorant people playing the game. This is, for some people, making WonderTrade even more useless and gimmicky than what it originally was (randomly getting seven Weedles! yayz! MY BEEDRIL SQUAD IS FINALLY COMPLETE!).

This and Lumiose. Makes me remind a commentary in a glitch showcase video from RBY, which said something like "when games had bugs". This is when everyone has to remember that any kind of software is prone to bugging and glitching. Bad thing about these glitches though is that they don't seem to be fun.

Maybe someone will hatch a Missingno from a Mystery Zone Egg,

Orochii Zouveleki

EDIT: Don't mind my rudeness (if any), I just love being dramatic.

I find that bug strange because I know I saved in that town on the street and I was fine.

Anyway I am currently loving Sylveon right now (Had to trade for it since I was emotionally unable to stand another second not having an Eevee.)

EDIT: I figured out where I was supposed to go but how the heck was I supposed to know that I had to go through the Aquarium? Like seriously?!? I mean I know I should be going EVERYWHERE but still...

The Lumiouse City bug didn't affect everyone, just a percentage. Speaking of X/Y I need to get back to playing that. Need to beat the 2nd gym, head back to the cave and catch the other Pokemon there.

I'm too OCD with this game. I'm actively trading with my friend for Pokedex entries (for power items)...he has a ditto in his Friend Safari, and apparently there is almost no limit to the amount of Pokemon in it...I recently got one that Serebii claimed to not be in the game. :p

Pokemon is still a thing?

Seriously, if the gameplay weren't so archaic, I'd probably still be playing it.  But it was still playing like a NES-era RPG on DS when I picked up HeartGold  for nostalgia sake.  Wasn't impressed.

I don't mind turn-based too much, but the gameplay needs to be faster.  The half-second pauses between messages and animations is just tedious padding.

Edit:  And before you say "Just turn off the animations," I pre-emptively counter with "I shouldn't have to not see animations in order to enjoy this game."

Battles should be like the GBA Golden Sun:  they only go as fast as you tap (or better yet, HOLD) the button.

Yeah, battle pacing is something that still annoys me a bit. It's definitely FASTER than it's been in past generations (weather effects used to piss me off with how much they dragged battles on in Ruby) but there are still some moves that have no need to be as slow as they are. I'm talking about the moves like Fury Attack that hit 2-5 times. They still perform their hits one at a time and I think it's about time they sped those moves up and made the hits all happen in a quick flurry. BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM! Not ANIMATION - BAM - ANIMATION - BAM, etc.

There's just no RPG like an auto-pilot RPG where you don't even have to look at the screen, just hammer A until battle finishes, right guys?

EDIT:  I mean... who the heck thought putting battle into Pokémon was a good idea to begin with?!  These things really should just be interactive stories instead.  Battle systems are so archaic and clunky and get in the way of all the cool stuff like exploring caves for items and reading childish cliché plot!

Won't lie... Some things in the pokemon battle system do go way too slow, but go to the options and turn that text speed up to fast and it helps move it a bit. I personally love the battle system this time around. It seems like they cut some of the longer animations down a bit to not drag on (seriously, old weather moves and ultimate attacks like eruption and so on just lasted WAY too long to use more than once in battle), which is a good thing. With them nerfing how long weather lasts, I don't need to see my pokemon whipping up a sandstorm multiple times in battle at 5-10 seconds a piece.

But for argument's sake, I agree that you shouldn't have to turn off animations to enjoy the battle, but if you are just mashing buttons to make them go faster, aren't you skipping them anyways? I fail to see why that is an issue. If you just let the animations in Golden Sun play out as long as they normally would without mashing, you probably wouldn't use that battle system to compare int he first place. Point being, animations are cool, but they take time if you want them to play out. It is like a movie. You have two options there, either watch all the action happen on screen in turn for taking extra time, or just mash through and look up the outcome online. Avengers was an awesome movie, but only because of the major action, which took quite a bit of extra time. Pokemon is much like that. You want to see the cool attack, then be patient. If you would rather mash through it, then turn it off all together.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
