Will this actually affect Poké Transporter? It's a 3DS-based service, so I don't see how.

Probably not, it just came out after all. And there has to be a way to get all 721 pokemon, or the game would be incomplete.

Actually 3DS isn't getting affected. Just Wii and DS/i the previous generation.

Meanwhile in Gen 3~

It shouldn't be affected. The shutdown is only targeting Wii, DS, and DSi services and what's left is the WiiU and 3DS services still up and running so we are still okay.

Yeah, that wont be affecting Poke Transfer in any way. The transfer system reads the card itself and does not require a ds internet connection, only 3ds. Now, the only thing I could see becoming an issue is if someone plans on using PokeGen or PokeCheck, but I dont see this really affecting anything official.

When it comes to that type of software, I use a cable that connects an action replay to the computer. Anything weird will still be working, but yeah, nothing major will be changed since GTS and all that stuff from 4th and 5th gen are in 6th gen.

I'm thankful Nintendo had almost zero DLC last generation just some minor internet connection stuff, I can still play my 7th generation ds and wii games and still get the whole game... if you get my drift.

I'm so sad that I missed it the end. I watched when they emerged from Victory Road and threw themselves repeatedly at the Elite Four over and over. I left it on my other monitor muted while I watched other things. The Gen 2 starts Sunday morning and hopefully it'll be just as much fun. Wonder what starter they'll select randomly and who will be the Helix of this gen.

I've got a new interesting theme going for my third team setup:

1. Slaking

2. Snorlax

3. Hypno

4. Slowking or Slowbro

5. ______

6. ______

Came up with two team names for them:

- Dreams to Nightmares

- Sleepy Six

I'm fairly surprised to see my Slaking deal a mass load of damage plus that "Return" damage is a good opener when it comes to the battles. Snorlax is one of my main tanks so he gets switched in after Slaking makes a move and that passive "Truant" is really annoying when it's active. Slowbro I found to be massively powerful the hard way when a tri-element Slowbro from Japan in Black wiped the floor with my team due to its high Sp.Def, Def, and Sp. Atk.

I prefer doubles for Slaking, since you can skill swap truant to annoying megas. :p

Im trying to forget Ash ever existed... He has been to over six regions, earned countless badges, and has caught tons of different pokemon, but he can still not remember even the simplest of battle strategies. He has continued to win solely on luck alone. He cant even remember basic type match-ups (for example, he is not afraid to use Pikachu, who only knows Iron Tail and a couple electric moves, against ground and/or rock pokemon...)

Don't you remember though?  In the first season when he fought Brock, he "super powered" his Pikachu so that it would be effective against Rock types!

Though, I'm not sure the writers of the show remember that.  Ha ha.

Ugh...Ash, the boy with short term memory and the hacked battles. One of his battles long before which I thought was funny was when he used Muk against a Bellsprout.

Bellsprout was beating the carcass outta Muk, but Muk just stood there and Ash goes, "Good job Muk! You are going great!" Then the final attack from Muk was a snail's pace body slam.

My friend and I have decided that the time has come to settle an old score...by purchasing a used copy of pokemon red for our still working gameboy pockets and starting a new game, beating it, and then challenging each other to a battle via a link cable. Thoughts on what level we should fight at? I was thinking 50 or 60, or should we glitch to 100?

How about a battle after every gym? Then your team could be always changing after getting to new areas/Pokemon.
