Well, I certainly plan on updating things there often. In fact, I hopefully will be able to recruit a staff member or two to help manage the page and populate it with new content.
On that note...
I will be taking applications to become Pokemon Corner official staff. This means working with our facebook page to help provide new content. I have a few different jobs open.
Content Creator - Essentially, this is kind of the same as a reporter. This job doesn't require much in terms of keeping the peace or such, but more focuses on bringing cool new content to the page. Whether it be reporting on TPP progress, writing a quick article on a competitive strategy, or reporting on official Nintendo announcement, what you write is up to you. You are only shooting to give people something new and cool to look at or read. Maybe throw in cool fan artworks, Show off impressive fan games, or whatever you find brings in viewers. (up to three people)
Moderator - Your main job as a Mod is to be the law on the page. Keep the peace. You know the rules of the page and you will be able to handle small to medium problems as they rise. Large scale problems generally get handed over to the administration unless you have permission to handle it. You will have the power to enforce the rules as you see fit, but respect the rules yourself. No one person is bigger than the community and any power given can be taken away at the consent of the community. (only one position open currently)
To apply for these, I mainly ask that you have a decent amount of previous activity here in the Corner before you ask for a staff position. I will not require any position to be a full time engagement, so dont worry about needing to be 100% active 24/7. I just ask you report to the facebook page every so often as you see fit. I will hand pick Content Creators from the apps I get, and the mod position will go to whom I truly believe has the community in best interest. For Content Creators, your chances would go up if you could let me in on what you would plan on contributing to the community.
Anyways, if you want in, post here.
On another note, I mentioned a few posts back that we could soon have a youtube where we will have things like lets plays, tutorials, and battle videos. Well, I went ahead and did the first episode on the battle videos as kind of a proof of concept type deal. This isn't a 100% agreed on design for how these videos will happen, but this is the general concept. As battle videos sometimes tend to get a bit boring as you wait for the players to slowly chip away at their opponent's health, I added a few extra things to help keep attentions. Throughout the video, you get little snippets of information like Pokedex entries, the origins of pokemon names, some pokemon trivia, and even a funny/cute picture or two to go along with things.
Note, this is just the battle video setup. The overall plan is to have a few different running series on the channel (battles, lets plays, commentaries), each with their own look and setup.
However, as these each will be a continuous series, I want to come up with a decent name for each one...
For the battle series, I have thought of "PokeCorner Rumbles", "Late Night Brawls", and "P.C. Fisticuffs". Lol, yes the last one is more for laughs, but it could work.
Any ideas from you guys?
