                                                                                                             Pokemon: Crystal Rescue

This is a reimagining of the first ever Pokemon game to come out for RPG Maker MV. Pokemon Crystal Rescue Mission stars a Minun who is afraid of becoming the leader. She is forced to become one after her friendswere saved by Minun thus giving them a reason to trust Minun that they'll be protected. This takes place 100 years after Team Pokepal's village was destroyed (off screen) by Deoxys as well as a Charmander and Totodile being crystalized until Minun releases them from crystalization. They have no memories about their past until one questions the crystalized heroes of the past's timeline. After 100 years, a powerful being is awoken yet again   to finish Deoxy's job that is to make all Pokemon evil so his world could be what he desired. A world where everyone obeys him. By using the powers of electric and psychic types, he will use "Data Pokemon" (A sentient collection of Pokemon extinct or not in this timeline (Gen vii doesn't exist), yet they are very faulty.) and every Pokemon is evil and has the audacity to obey their master, he will be able make the world what he wanted. The three young Pokemon, Minun, Squirtle, and Lucario won't know this until Charmander remembers why a lot of Pokemon are suddenly turning against their own good. It's up to Minun and her allies to stop the mysterious villian.

The target demographic for this game is aiming for a younger audience unlike last time where it was aimed for a mature demographic. The availible demo contains two complete bosses, a  community made rearrangement of the Final Fantasy soundtrack (Besides the battle theme) with Pokemon inspired instruments and a battle system that will hit home to the classic Final Fantasy series as well as introducing a psuedo FFVII styled limitbreak AKA my version of Z-moves from Sun and Moon as well as some other stuff.

                                                                                                         Characters (Artwork appreciated):

Minun: The leader. A friendly and humble Pokemon with a sight of bravery yet fear when the center of attention. She is the 2nd youngest member of the group sparking a purple bandana bib indicating her affiliation with team Crystal, her favorite team and favorite thing to fangirl over as Team Crystal is the most powerful team in her homeplace. Minun lives in a cave where Zubats stay to bother her.  Minun can equip anything but likes wands the most.

Squirtle: The 2nd eldest one. She loves water, and is the most intelligent of the group... Though that's not much to say. Squirtle's favorite color is blue as that's the color of water and she is an excellent swimmer. She however is very, very slow.

Lucario: The oldest one, being the only teenager of the group. He thinks he's better than everyone and pretends he's the king like anyone believes that. He is quick, fast, strong, but gets KO'd easily due to his wreckless behavior.

Charmander: A crazier depiction of  the player character in Red Rescue team coming out of a crystalized ball. Just like Minun, she/he is friendly but can get really annoyed and will make witty threats against anyone that annoys her.

Meloetta: The one who leads Team Crystal and discovered vehicles. She can be very forcing when it comes to giving orders but has a softer spot for Minun seeing that she's doing her best despite her problems.

I'd suggest going back and working on the presentation, the resources you're using look mismatched and poorly utilized. No one will want to play a game that isn't appealing to look at, there are tonnes of Pokémon and Pokémon-esque graphics out there to use. Make sure your assets match in terms of pixel ratio (ie, if you're using 16x16 tiles, use sprites that fit a 16x16 grid.)

I have a little feedback for you based on your screenshots that may help:

Screenshot 1 looks really empty and boring. Can you fill it in more? Make it interesting?

Screenshot 2: That wall graphic looks bad to me, especially when you put two of them on top of each other like that. Maybe use another graphic?

Screenshot 3: I'd see if you can find a way to adjust it so that the player characters don't look like they are floating in air. As it is, the first character is so far up it looks like they are dancing in the trees! See if you can get it so that all of them appear to be on the ground. This may require changing the resolution or scripting.

Do you have any tiles that you can suggest to me MV compatible?

I am not really sure what pixel ratio the characters are but I will scale them down to 32x32 next time.

I'm just gonna make a seemingly bad excuse and say... I don't have much to work with. Tileset spriting is confusing to me, I can't sprite well enough to copy the artstyle I was going for, So if anyone would like to team up with me and optimize the Pokemon essential tilesets, that will be nice. XP essentials worked differently so that's probably why everything looks all weird even with other tilesets everything looks all bunched up and sorted awkwardly in the editor But I do try to make it work.

As for the battle sprites, I could easily change some values in Yan's battle engine which I can do right now.

Hmmm....can  you use the MV RTP? No one says you have to use Pokeman tiles for this. It would give it a unique style too if you did that in my opinion. Otherwise, no ideas I'm afraid, I never graduated beyond stick figures in my drawing skills so you're still light years ahead of me in spriting!

MV's RTP is too detailed and realisitc for a Pokemon theme... Also it's RTP. IMO default resources should only be used for private practicing with friends or yourself or first time game developers unless edited. I'd definately love to ditch the tilesets though and not have to rely on ripped assets from another RPG Maker resource though. However resources made by the MV community don't fit a theme like Pokemon.

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
