We'd love to know which console(s) you own and use most frequently. Feel free to let us know how often you use consoles and why you like them in comments!

I'm still exclusively using last-gen consoles - PS3 & the original Wii.


In all honesty, though, if there was a new RPG Maker that was designed around porting to a console (rather than a tacked-on feature with PC export still being the prime intention), that would be a system-seller for me.

Does a Wii (not u) and a PS2 slim count? Personally prefer the PS2 over the Wii doesn't hurt my wrists as much.

Wasint sure what to put so i said "Other" . I dont really have any consoles right now, except PC, Android Devices, and PS3 but i dont really play that much. I kinda wanna get a wiiU or a 3ds though.

Ps3. I'm still last gen. Not enough games on the PS4 exclusively to warrant an upgrade, and I could care less about high def 4K bloom ultra particle physics or whatever the newest shiny thing is that those systems offer.

Haven't been able to really afford any newer consoles so I only have a Xbox 360 that I got years ago at a good price that I still play games on every now and then.


Not sure if we are including handhelds in this if so I also have a Nintendo 2DS I use every now and then as well.


Let's see reasons:


Xbox 360: I got it cheap but I also like it because its proven to be a reliable system for me and there is a good selection of games. It lacked a lot of rpgs though which disappointed me but it did have a few exclusives. You can still find support for the console so I continue to have a use for it.


2DS: Also got this at a good price but mostly got it for nintendo's fine selection of handheld games. They put out pretty good quality and a great deal of variety, having this or their other 3ds related consoles is the only way to play hit games like pokemon (which is what I bought it for in the first place). I also find this particular model quite comfortable to hold even for extended play sessions.


Technically still own a Playstation 2 but I no longer play it and have sold off all my games. Used to have many other handhelds and consoles but have since got rid of them for various reasons.

I bought a 2DS because I only have one functioning eye, so the 3d part would be useless.

(I play most on my PS4 though)

Xbox 360, PSP and Gamecube, the Xbox has got plugged back in tonight for Call of Duty 3. I'm loving this backward compatibility, there are people actually playing on live again  All I have seen with the latest consoles is just spit and polish, no generational leap in gameplay so I really can't be bothered to upgrade. May even be my last consoles. PC gaming is having a renaissance with indies etc. I'd LOVE a simple way to port RPGMV games to X1/PS4 though.

PS3 cus its cheaper then this gen of consoles, or even a comparable gaming pc. mostly because my pc has never been capable of doing anything not indie.

I have not upgraded to the 8th Gen systems.  I mostly  use PC for all my games these days as well.  However, the Xbox One seems to be the superior of the 8th Gen, if for no other reason than console mods.


At least that's my take on it anyway.

PS4 allows PES modding, whereas Xbone does not. Totally game dependent.

Don't claim to have looked much into it as of current I don't have a horse in the race, and since really the only games I'd be playing on it were Bethesda games most likely (since I'm working on Modding Fallout 4 and Skyrim because reasons), it's not something I've got a vast deal of knowledge on.

WiiU for me. Also own a PS3, but I personally use it less (in general it does see more use in this house though). Not at all planning to upgrade to a PS4; there just aren't any games that sell the system for me... there are 3 or 4 games I would like to have, but not enough to get the whole console for it.


 I did own a Wii, Gamecube and PS2 until recently, but moving to a different continent I had to make choices... so they had to go! Also own a 3DS.

3DS, I still like the handheld consoles but otherwise it's pc gaming all the way for me. Not sure if I'll ever upgrade to ps4(I do have an old ps3), and while I keep saying I want to get a wii it looks like the second generation is about to pass me by..

If there was ever a console to port to, it would be a Nintendo one. There are just simply more options for RPGs. From the DS to the Wii U, it's just so much more limitless for creators. Multiple screens = good times.

I pretty much game from every era. I rarely play the same system or genre for any longer then a week or two. But if I had to pick one that currently find myself jumping back to, it's my PS4. Been catching up on a lot of AAA games and stuff that I don't feel like playing on my PC.

Out of this generation, all I own is the Wii U... and I haven't touched that in a while. I'm more of a handheld guy when it comes to the last two generations.
