Hello guys! :)

I'm making a game using the Pop! Horror City -pack (which is awesome!), and I ran into a little problem with the doors.

I've nearly always used the same door event in my other projects without a problem, and the event itself isn't a problem in this case. I've also used In-Depth Maps v2.0 by FenixFyrex so the character can walk under the walls when needed, like when entering the doors.

The event I use:

The problem is this: when using the pop! horror city doors with this combo, there's a tiny gap over the door where you can see the character.

Reason why I hadn't run into this problem before is probably that most of the doors are 1 or 2 tiles tall, but in this pack they are more like 1,8 tiles.

I don't need to use this method, but I can't really come up with anything else! :( I really would like the character to actually enter through the door like in this event, but not with a problem like this.

So I'm asking, what method you have used with the doors of this pack? What would be the best working solution? :)

P.S This is my first post in this forum, please be gentle :'D

Try setting the passability of the top frame of the door to star.. then let's see if it works. :)

I tried that before, but it doesn't work :(

Result is this:

I can also just enter from the other side, but when going back the tile blocks me.

But thanks for trying, any other ideas? :)

Well, if that still persists, we are going to use some graphical modifications to the tiles.

I have edited some parts of you screenshot, which is the ceiling and the top frame of the door to this:

You can import this to the editor and place it wherever you want it, and add it to the tileset you are using then put a star passability to it. The word "door" in the image is just a scale on how tall the door is.

Now, to put it in action in your map, choose the floor tile and overwrite the path of the door with it. Hold the shift button while placing it. It should look like this:

(or something similar)

Then place our tile at the path. It should look like this:

You can add the autoshadow if you want. Then playtest it. Let's see if it works. :)

EDIT: You don't have to remove the door event.

Thank you so much! Now it works perfectly.

I'll just have to do the same version for few other doorways, but I think I'll manage my own from now on :)

Thanks once again, you were a great help! This is why I love this forum and everyone in here :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
