I was wondering if there was any method to allow two NPCs to converse with each other. Quack's Chatter script got the job done...but was so broken that it conflicted with the script it was an add-on for and it was impossible to save. I've tried other scripts, but they either don't allow anything beyond a few words or pause the player during the pop up text. Any recommendations?

Perhaps post a link to the script(s) you were using and state what the conflicts were. It might be easier/faster to fix that, than to write a whole new script.

Please note, you were asked for a link. Many scripters' Terms of Service forbid reposting.

@Kes those aren't reposting. Forum embeds Pastebin automatically just like video link. And the link was direct to the original author's account.

That's really familiar. I see you posted about this yesterday in a different thread, but I'm sure someone else posted about it maybe a week ago, with the same issue - not being able to save.

Isn't Yami still around?

I'll take a look at that script and if I can figure it out, will post the solution in your other thread.

It was someone's else addon, not Yami. So best not to bother Yami about this lol.

Ahh yes, sorry, I had forgotten to close that other thread. I was going to look into getting it fixed, but as I did more research, it sounded like the one I heard about was just a "band aid for a more serious issue". Then I saw a comment from Sixth trying to help someone else and he said it was at the point where it'd be easier to just make a new script than fix that one. At that point I figured it just wasn't going to happen.

Is there a way to post pastebin links as...well...links by the way? Every time I post one, it's embedded...

Theo, I took a crack at your script and used the example "bubble("What was that?")" in a script call, but it gave me an error: "undefined method 'bubble' for <Game_Interpreter:0xc5f4748>"

EDIT: No, wait, my bad. I had to put it in move route. XD And it works! Displays the message, lets me move. Giving the bubble priority so the player can't step on it would be nice, but that's hardly an issue. Thank you!

@KingHazeel you can actually use it in script call, but you need to be specific on which one going to pops up the text bubble.
For example, you write something like this
Code:
$game_map.events[<EVENT ID>].bubble(........)
So I thought it's just better to tell them to use the move route script call instead since in the move route you can select which event by using the dropdown menu.

@TheoAllen true - if you post the link as a straightforward copy/paste. However, if you do it like this:
script can be found here
then it doesn't.
I think a lot of people don't know about using the link icon to do that, so thanks for the heads up to me to be more specific in future.

I wonder if it could be defaulted to post a link rather than embed? It gets me every time, too, and I struggle to remember how to make it use a link instead.

@Shaz I'll raise that on the Staff board.
Tell them to keep the option to make it embed too, please!
I like that feature, and makes making script topics easy (not that I make much of those nowadays, but still).

He mad, but he cute :kaopride:

Our latest feature is an interview with... me?!

People4_2 (Capelet off and on) added!

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
