Hi everyone.

Back when i used RMXP, I was amazed with Multiple Message Windows, a RGSS script which let you to have more control of message system plus add the ability to make speech bubbles using simple Show Message commands.

The major features follows:

  • multiple message windows
  • speech bubbles
    • position over player/event (follows movement and scrolling)
    • optional message tail (for speech or thought bubbles)
    • can specify location relative to player/event (top, bottom, left, right)
  • thought bubbles
  • can use different windowskin, message tail and font color
  • letter-by-letter mode
    • variable speed (and delays)
    • skippable on button press
  • autoresize messages
  • player movement allowed during messages
    • if speaker moves offscreen, message closes (like ChronoTrigger)
  • everything also works during battle
  • settings configurable anytime
A demo, other info and etc are disponible in the author's Github.

Additionally, would be nice if the port carry an additional feature: The ability to choose an hex color to show the message (like \hc[#FCFCFC], with or without '#'.

I know Iavra Event Popup can do speech bubbles, but i think MMW is more friendly and powerful to do these things.

Thanks!

Seems like someone made a similar request before:

And @Galv made a similar plugin:

But its different and dont have many funcionalities of the requested script (like letter-by-letter, types of bubbles, etc and etc), however some options of Galvs plugins can be upcycled in case of porting (like the option of font name, size and etc).

But it can be a handy for some folks watching this thread. So follow the link to check that.

Hey everyone, we know that the edit bar is missing. We're working on it. You can talk about it in the announcement here: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/forum-errors-missing-edit-bar-etc.132715/
So, explain why we can no longer use BBC code or smilies in our posts? This sparks much sadness...
Are we now stuck with WYSIWYG ? I cannot revert back my posts to good old raw text ?
I'm wondering if I may be putting too many things into one map. A story, within a story, within a story . . . it's fun, but I can't shake the feeling that it may be better to scrap some of it, and use it for another map. I'm not sure what to do.
