Let us discuss our favorite booze. I, for one, an a colossal whore for good single malt scotch. Still waiting for the day I'm willing to splurge on a bottle of Glenfiddich that's old enough to buy a bottle of Glenfiddich.

Although, I will say Ardbeg tastes uncanilly like gasoline.

I like Buffalo Trace Bourbon.

Bourbon in general great.

Also, on the beer side I like St Bernardus Abt 12 and Smithwick's, as well as several of the Terrapin Beer Co. beers (local Athens, GA brewery)

Try Glenmorangie or Glenlivet - infinitely better than Glenfiddich, which tastes really rough after one of those two.

And for me, if it's not one of them, then I'm still a sucker for a traditional Gin and Tonic

Ah... Gin and Tonic.  I can drink a ****load of those and not feel it until I'm talking to a woman.  When I'm at a fancier dive, I like to break out a Gibson or a Vesper, the latter of which I enjoy making at parties.

Still trying to find my favorites, but so far from what I have tried (Irish Ale, bud, coors, spiced rum, margaritas), margaritas have been my main choice. Any ideas on what I should try next (I kinda lean towards the sweet rather than bitter stuff, from what I have been able to tell).

Bloody Marys. It's the most important meal of the day.

Also, GOOD whiskey tends to be smoky and sweet, and delightfully so.

And by "Coors," do you mean "water used to wash an ashtray?"

I enjoy margaritas with my bagged lunch, which usually consists of a rare steak and scotch.

E&J Brandy & Pepsi (Coke works fine too).  Real good when you're just relaxing at home and working on a project or two.  Beer?  New Belgium/5 Barrel.  Wheat or Dark Ales, all are good in my eyes.

Actually, now I'll have to try that E&J with Coke next time I go out.  I'll have to drink it during my 10:30 AM break.

Coke or pepsi is seriously a good mix with brandy... Tested it with quite a few of the local brands here... You can even totally hide the presence of the brandy depending on your mix ratio...

I used to carry a flask of Johnnie Walker Red Label to work every day when I was stationed on Okinawa.  That place will turn you into either a muscle head or an alcoholic.

I deeply enjoy a good whiskey sour. I try at least one anywhere I order drinks. I tried Jameson for the whiskey side of it not too long ago, and can never go back.

Poverty usually confines me to cheap lager and £4 bottles of wine, but I really like vodka and russian.  Why does Britain seem to have some crippling shortage of russian?

Yeah, but why would you want to? ;)
sometimes, a hidden alcohol in a drink can do wonders... of course, you're not supposed to use it on yourself though...
