Synopsis and Gameplay Features
"As much as I try, my life keeps getting worse.
I've been cursed with nightmarish visions that I can't even prevent."
Between February, and September of 2017, Jennifer Conner has suffered incessant premonitions. On top of that, her dreams about future events always come to pass in one way or another. Her latest dream is about the kidnapping of a little girl in her hometown, Whitefields. Worried, Jennifer decides to investigate the matter herself, fearing that something terrible might happen to the girl.
However, merely having the ability to see the future, having knowledge of what is about to happen, may not prevent the future from occurring: choices have to be made. Will they be the right ones?
"Precognition" is a horror and suspense game that focuses on the player's choices. You must help Jennifer in her mission of helping the little girl from her dreams, before it's too late. Depending on the decisions you make, characters will react in different ways, scenes will change, and the story will end in different ways. These choices are unavoidable and irreversible in most cases.

"Precognition" is a horror and suspense game that focuses on the player's choices. You must help Jennifer in her mission of helping the little girl from her dreams, before it's too late. Depending on the decisions you make, characters will react in different ways, scenes will change, and the story will end in different ways. These choices are unavoidable and irreversible in most cases.
Some of the features you'll find in the game are:
- Multiple endings. The current version (demo) features three different endings. That number will increase considerably in the final version.
- An autosave system. For now, the game only allows you to have three save files, and includes an autosave system which saves your progress after every important choice, making them irreversible. For the final version I'll improve this system, so the player can return to certain points in the story, and in order to make multiple playthroughs less tedious.
- Exploring the town of Whitefields. Whenever you want, you can freely explore the town. You can find interesting things, hints and information according to the phase of the day. NPCs have their own routines, and they're present only at certain times.

A girl who considers herself dull and lazy. Ever since her first “vision”, she’s been trying to help everyone as much as she can with the use of her powers, however, she always ends up making things worse.
Her father died in a car accident, her workaholic mother doesn’t treat her very well, and most of her former classmates have stopped talking to her since she changed schools. It seems that the only person she can trust is her best friend, Megan, but Jennifer's insecurity and fear of being called crazy has made her isolate herself from everyone.
Megan Allen

Jennifer’s neighbor and friend since childhood. Over the last year, Megan has started to feel like Jenn doesn’t value their friendship at all, and due to being constantly ignored, she’s lost her trust in her. Her biggest wish is to regain the friendship they had.
Megan is very intelligent, though she tends to jump to conclusions and gets easily scared by anything. She spends most of her time studying, reading or doing school assignments with her group of friends. She doesn’t believe in paranormal stuff, such as premonitions.
Marcia Hopkins

A serious and determined girl born in East Beach City, who recently moved to Whitefields along with her father. Marcia lost her mother when she was a child, and up to this day, she tries to keep the promise she made to her: To become a strong person and help everyone in need.
After finishing high school, she decided to take a gap year to decide her career. She currently has a part-time job at Whitefields Market and goes to East Beach City every now and then to hang out with her friends and visit her mother’s grave.
Suzanne Symons

A little girl who comes from a dysfunctional family. Suzanne tries to be optimistic, hoping that one day everything will get better for her and her parents. She’s extremely creative and spends her time drawing and writing in her diary, as her father never lets her play with other kids.
Jennifer will try to save Suzanne from a terrible fate, after having a premonition where she sees the girl being kidnapped.
Stephen Campbell

A talented detective, considered by some as cold and calculating. He has a passion for solving mysteries and bringing justice to those involved.

Stephen works for the local police station, though he dislikes most of his workmates and would prefer to work as a private investigator.

He used to work for exclusive restaurants across the state, and loved to spend his spare time fishing with his daughter.

The currently available version (demo) contains three endings. Some details about them may change depending on your actions.

ENDING A: ???
This ending depends on a single question asked by Jennifer's mother during the night of September 7.
During the first phone call, if you selected "Go with Megan", the option will be presented as:
Ask about going to the cemetery. ; Don't ask anything.
If you selected "Stay at home" instead, the option will be presented as:
Talk about the invitation. ; Don't say anything.
About this ending:
Bad ending. Jennifer tries to go to the alley of her premonitions to save the little girl before it's too late, however, Jennifer's mother, Elizabeth, arrives home. Due to their discussion the night before, Elizabeth is in a terrible mood and starts questioning her daughter's weird behavior. Things gets worse quickly, as Elizabeth loses her composure and slaps Jennifer, forcing her to go to her room.
Out of fear of her mother, Jennifer stays at home: her chance of helping the girl from her visions has been ruined.
Soon, the local news mention the kidnapping of a little girl from Whitefields.
"Did you watch the news, Jennifer?
Something weird happened in our neighborhood.
A little girl went missing last night.
Her whereabouts are unknown.
Jennifer? Why aren't you talking?
Are you still angry because of yesterday?
What's with the face, Jennifer?
Jennifer?"
Out of fear of her mother, Jennifer stays at home: her chance of helping the girl from her visions has been ruined.
Soon, the local news mention the kidnapping of a little girl from Whitefields.
"Did you watch the news, Jennifer?
Something weird happened in our neighborhood.
A little girl went missing last night.
Her whereabouts are unknown.
Jennifer? Why aren't you talking?
Are you still angry because of yesterday?
What's with the face, Jennifer?

This ending depends on how Jennifer treats Megan during the two playable days.
To get this ending, you have to choose the following options:
During the night of September 7:
Go with Megan. ; Stay at home.
Talk about the invitation. ; Don't say anything.
During the scene at the park, the next morning:
Tell Megan the truth. ; Hide the truth.
During the night of September 8:
Telling Megan about the latest dream. ; Going immediately to the alley.
About this ending:
Bad ending. Megan is done with Jennifer: she feels ignored, forgotten, and taken for granted. When Jennifer calls her during the night of September 8, she reacts negatively, and the two girls start to argue over the phone. It starts raining before Megan hangs up.
Since Jennifer lied to her mother the previous night (avoiding a discussion), she's able to go downtown. However, it is too late already, and the diary that she saw during one of her visions is completely ruined because of the rain.
The only piece of information about the little girl has been lost, due to Jennifer's bad decisions.

Since Jennifer lied to her mother the previous night (avoiding a discussion), she's able to go downtown. However, it is too late already, and the diary that she saw during one of her visions is completely ruined because of the rain.
The only piece of information about the little girl has been lost, due to Jennifer's bad decisions.

This is the "good ending" for the demo version. It is not a real ending, as the full game will continue after this point.
To get this ending, you just have to avoid getting either Ending A or Ending B requisites, and because of this, this ending has multiple versions, where Megan may be involved or not.
*Blue options will improve Jennifer's friendship with Megan. Red options will anger Megan.
During the night of September 7:
Go with Megan. ; Stay at home.
If you selected "Go with Megan", the following choice you must make when talking with Jennifer's mother is:
Ask about going to the cemetery. ; Don't ask anything.
If you selected "Stay at home" instead, the option will be presented as:
Talk about the invitation. ; Don't say anything.
The next morning, during the scene at the cemetery (if you selected "Go with Megan")
or the scene at the park (if you selected "Stay at home"):
Tell Megan the truth. ; Hide the truth.
During the night of September 8 you must be careful:
If by this point, you have selected two red options, Jennifer must NOT call Megan, so in that case you must select:
Telling Megan about the latest dream. ; Going immediately to the alley.
Otherwise, if you have selected one or two blue options, you can select either option and continue.
About this ending:
Jennifer manages to go downtown, though it is too late to help the little girl from her visions, who is nowhere to be found. She manages to recover a life diary that belongs to the little girl, and decides that she must do whatever is possible to rescue her.
If you selected two red options, Jennifer will call Megan and will apologize for every time she lied to her. Jenn starts crying and Megan tries to calm her down. Megan decides to go pick her up as the rain gets louder. The call ends, and Jennifer cries, sitting alone on a bench.
If you selected one red option and one blue option, Megan will text Jennifer, worried about her friend. Jennifer then will call her, and most of the conversation will be similar to the previous case, however, if you selected "Tell Megan the truth", Jennifer will tell Megan about the dream that just came to pass.
If you selected both blue options, the scene will change drastically. This time, Megan worries about Jennifer's safety and follows her as soon as she sees her leaving her house and going downtown. After catching up with her, they recover the life diary of the little girl, and soon, Jennifer starts getting very anxious about everything that has happened. Megan tries to calm her down, as the rain gets louder. She hugs her, and tells her that everything's gonna be fine.

Some of the scenes that are already available in the demo (including the prologue and Jennifer's first premonition) will be improved. New choices will appear too.
Skipping Scenes:
You'll be able to skip the scenes that you've already seen in the game. That way, you won't have to read the same dialogue or watch the same events multiple times in case you're trying to get all the possible endings.
Return Points:
"Precognition" takes place over the course of several days. A "return point" allows you to go back to the start of your current day. This makes it easier to make progress, as you will not have to replay the entire prologue, first scenes, days or most of the game in case you want to achieve an specific ending. You're only allowed to have 1 return point per save file, and it gets overwritten every time you finish a day.
A more complete Whitefields:
In the current demo, most buildings are inaccessible. Some locations like Whitefields Supermarket, the Police Station or some of your neighbors' houses will be new additions for the final version, and some of these locations will be important or relevant to the plot.
Also, the current demo features about fifty NPCs without any role at all except hints and casual dialogue. I expect to increase that number and give NPCs more relevance (read below) to make the town feel less empty.
Helping people:
Aside from the main objective of the game, you'll be able to help people from Whitefields.
The rewards will be new information, new scenes or even collectibles.
Multiple playable characters:
Aside from Jennifer, you'll be able to play as Megan or Marcia during certain parts of the game.
More menu options:
In the full game, the menu will have more options available:
-A character menu, that will allow you to read more info. about the main characters.
-A map menu that shows Whitefields and helps you locate certain points in the town.
-A sidequest menu that shows the people you've helped during the game, and the info./collectibles you've earned during your playthrough.
As I've said before, the number of endings will increase considerably, there will be a great amount of graphical improvements and, hopefully, performance improvements.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
