As MV gets closer and closer to release, we all have a ton of ideas about what to do with it. I think this is a pretty good time to plan things out, and make sure you actually have a clear direction and clear goals before you start making a game (or porting an existing project!).

Rami Ismail gave a pretty good talk recently on making your first indie game. Making games is hard and your first game will probably be bad. But don't give up! Try your best and learn as much as you can.

For one thing, it not my first game but I'm keeping things medium-large this time, my VX project was a mess because it was too large and I also need some de-rusting before starting since it's been a few years since I touched an RPG Maker game and the last one was DS+.  I already have stuff planned from as far back as last month which is all character related.

Watched all of the video. Interesting points, but I really don't like his energy. I say this as a mid 30s established person that is use to working with very uplifting creative happy positive people. He seems like he is stuck babysitting with his tone. Maybe that is the tone for people in their early 30s need to hear.

so again, I don't regret watching the video, and the content of the message is good, but amazing how one sounds can make a huge difference. Thanks for sharing!

I love his tone, but that's more because he reminds me of Dylan Moran than anything else

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
