Greetings Forrumites! I am here to contribute a new resource for the Forrum, if Your like me and want to make Your own map tileset and found Yourself staring down the Gordian knot with the prospect of knot being able to figure the system out, fret not! these will make that mass of code aligned blue squares far less daunting, now from My understanding of it, the blue squares are a grid, much like the grid below, use these to create Your own map grid, I used MS Paint, use what ever suits Your preference.

I have also uploaded Charset grids use the names they have specifically the "!", "$", "!$" and "$!" at the front of the image as that is game code. God speed fellow Forrumites.

sorry, but you're mixing up a lot of completely unrelated fact, which makes those templates absolutely useless.

First, ! and $ are special signs in the filenames of sprites, they have absolutely nothing to do with tiles - you can follow the link to the starting point in my signature and read to the tips to learn what they do. Because both have specific functions and need to be used only when those functions are needed.

Second, there are six different formats for tilesheets because autotiles have different sizes. And you can't make even a single pixel wrong without messing up the sheets, and the sheets need to go into exactly the slots they're intended for.

If you search around you'll find a topic for the official templates for MV, and those are different than the templates for other makers.
You didn't even say for which maker those templates are (and as far as I can see they fit none of the makers I know of).

Prehaps I should have mentioned these are for VXA, Andar, I haven't made anything for MV yet.

they don't fit anything for VXA either - the only difference between VXA and MV concerning the formats is that MV is 150% the size of VXA.
I only mentioned MV because that has an official topic with the real formats neccessary for tiles, and you could get the VXA-equivalent by reducing size on them (66.66%)

We appreciate your wanting to help. But as Andar said, while the grid may be the right size for Ace (32 x 32), the overall sheet dimensions are not correct. While someone could potentially use it to make tiles, they would still have to compile the tiles into a sheet that is the correct size, depending on which tab the tiles are meant to go in.

Further, MS Paint is not really ideal for creating graphics as you cannot save a transparent background and you cannot have layers. That means you'd have to draw directly on this which in the long run will cause a lot of unneeded issues.

It's really best to use a program like Gimp or Paint.net (both free) or Photoshop. Those support layers, which would be more useful for a template like this, or I believe all 3 have the ability to display a grid of the size you choose (I know Gimp and PS do, can't say for sure about Paint.net).

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
