I'm trying a plugin thats supposed to make the area of player's contact bigger , but the instructions are not very clear for me, i understand basically nothing of javascript so i dont know if i made it work.

This is what i'm trying to fix:

So installed this plugin but i dont know if im making it right, i cant seem to make it work:

And then i set this event on the stage so it would trigger a bell sound and a plugin comment making its size of contact be 1 tile bigger each direction

When i test it, its just the same, just like in the first picture, so i dont know what i did wrong... does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks for the attention!

I cannot view the plugin code, as my work blocks javascript and if I try to view it I have to explain to the security team why I was trying to download and run javascript on my work's (bank's) computers.

However, based on "Player can only be upsized by running an event containing a BigPlayer comment", my guess is that you don't put that comment into your Player Touch event, but an event specifically created just to run that command.

So, new event on whatever map you first want to set the player size (if the player will be that size throughout the game, then it will be on the intro map). Set it to parallel process. Add the comment (what you've got looks correct), followed by an Erase Event command.

Remove the bigPlayer comment from any other events. I can't see the instructions to set the size for events, but I'm guessing they're similar. THOSE are the ones you'd put on each event.

One thing I noticed is that the plugin file says to use comments, not plugin commands. In your screenshot you're using a plugin command.
I don't remember which page it's on, but when you use a comment it should appear as green in the event editor.

I also tried doing it as a common event, but i'm not sure how they work, it was pretty much a shot in the dark

Omg it worked! I just switched for regular Comment. If you dont mind, but whats the difference between the two, the Plugin Comment x Comment (regular)?

Also, do you happen to understand these other types? I think i used Type A because there are three numbers in that comment, but I dont know how the engine would differentiate Type A by Type B circle for example... i not sure how i'm supposed to interpret this data

A plugin command is used ONLY for plugins, while a comment is normally just to add notes and comments as reference for yourself, but some plugins use these to run code(normally the text will be surrounded by <> so the plugin knows whether the comment is just notes or if it's code). I'm no coding expert so I can't tell you the specific reason why sometimes comments are used instead of plugin commands.
Not sure about type B, but type B Circle and type B diamond are probably for the shape of the collision.

Happy to hear making it a comment fixed things! :kaojoy:

would be wise to read it carefully, comments are also very different on common events which arent comments either :)

Plugin Command: Execute a plugin command
comments: green text as help reference (to know what the part of the event do to your self.
some comments that use < and > execute comments code, some use // to be save to not execute anything else
if comments are used.
