Hello all!

I've been lurking on the boards for a bit and learning as much as I can from everyone on here (thanks, btw, you're all some impressive humans) and now I have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to.

I'm using Yanfly's Party System Plugin and, for some reason, I'm having an issue with adding party members. The parameters are set to allow a max of 8 party members and show 8 followers. However, once a 5th party member is added (via an event at a certain point in the game) something peculiar happens. Instead of adding the actor, it adds a blank file with no name and basic template hero stats.

This is the hero list. Characters come in and out of the party throughout the game. Adding 0021 (Danae) is the first time there are more than four members in the party at once which is why I haven't hit this problem until after 200+ hours of screwing around with this game.

The character is added through a boring event:

Pretty basic. A conversation and a simple add. The self switch is only to erase the sprite of the event.

Sadly, once the character is added this is what appears on the menu:

The curious case of the invisible actor.

I've also included a screenshot of all of the many many plugins running:

Oh the unholy glory.

Hopefully this is enough information. If not, I can explain the situation more. It really is a very straightforward process so I'm a bit lost as to what could be wrong.

Any/all help would be appreciated. If this isn't in the right forum I apologize in advance. Thanks!

Please post a screenshot of your actor database with the actor you plan to add, a screenshot of the event where you add that actor, and a link to the plugin website of the party system. Additionally a screenshot of your plugin manager would be helpfull.

I've moved this thread to Plugin Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Thanks Andar!

Just added all the images requested and added the Yanfly link. Hopefully that helps. :D

Your first step should be to reorder your plugins in the sequence that is suggested by Yanfly. That usually solves a lot of problem, because the compatibility options that yanfly included always assume that you follow his instructions about the required order of the plugins.

And both the party plugin and the status menu plugin (the two plugins most involved in this problem) are completely out of the required sequence

I just did that as per your suggestion (I didn't realize that Yanfly's download page was a master list of how plugins should be arranged) but it didn't change anything. I'm still getting a blank actor.

use a control variable command to get the actor ID on slot five (the ID of the blang actor, you said that is slot 5?) and display that by show text to check if the blank is the wrong actor or the wrong data.

(you did start a new game after the changes? you have to do that as the game stores actor data into the savefile, and if you loaded a savefile from before that actor existing in the database that might have caused this)

Andar, you are the best. Thank you for helping me.

The issue was that I was NOT starting a new game. This event happens about 2 hours into play and I didn't even think about the fact that I was using a working file. I cheated by starting a new game and making a secret teleport on the main page of the map that led right to the event, and I edited the event to add 3 characters (which made the total party 6) so that I could test to see if more than 4 members would produce the same issue.  Lo and behold, all 6 members wound up in the party with none of the same issues.

I really should have thought of that on my own but, hey, the mind is not always as clear as it should be.

Thank you for the prompt and useful replies! :)

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
