    Hi everyone :)
I have an animation of my main character falling, what I am trying to do is just insert the animation into the engine but it seems the engine wont recognise it. The image is a small gif file, I have also tried taking the two different images that create the animation (his shirt flaps) and trying to put them in as still images with one quickly replacing the other, but I have not been able to do so.

I am using the latest steam version of rpg maker mv.

animated gifs aren't supported by MV, you will have to use spritesheets to animate things

That I thought was already true which is why I requested my artist to provide the two images separated. However when i try to change the actor using the image showing both parts of the animation a small square appears and it wont highlight the image properly, do I need to change the image so they are above and below each other instead of side by side?

i inserted the image to make it easier

'Tech Support' is for when you can't get the engine to run.

I've moved this thread to RPGMaker MV. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Is your sprite sheet in the correct format? A single sprite is 3 frames wide by 4 frames tall. The width of each frame has to be equal to each other's width and the same for the height. Then be sure to put a "$" at the beginning of the file name so the engine can recognize that it's a single character sheet.

It looks like you still don't have the right layout for your sprite, that looks like it's only one frame, and a sprite sheet is twelve frames (three wide and four tall). You don't have to have something in every frame, but if you don't have that many frames then it won't work properly.
