Is anyone else in this topic tempted to reply "You sunk my battleship!" when people request numbers?   Ha ha.  This thing is looking pretty nice so far.

I was thinking, wouldn't it be kind of cool for everyone to have their own NPC?  Kind of like a "Credits" thing for everyone who participated?  We could make one or something with the VX Ace character creation thing for each of us, maybe?  I dunno, just a thought.

There should be some massive necropolis style place, and on each tombstone is the name of someone who contributed to the game!

If either I-5 or J-6 aren't taken I'd like to try to work on one of those (having a bit of writer's block with my own game right now, so having anything to do would be good)
Cool. Welcome to the topic, by the way. I'm going to give you I-5, because Paladin-Cleric of Awesome bagsed J-6 before I had time to update the map. I'm going to give you the base of the map, with 4 edges that you can't edit because they connect to the maps adjacent to them. Is that cool?


Here's the base of the map I-5.


If you want to paste it into an existing project, you will have to rename it to a map name like Map001.rvdata2, depending on what maps already exist in that project. Let me know if you have any problems.

Edit 2: Just been squinting at the main map... are my two little tiny scout tents in the screenshot there?If not, you may want to copy my Mapstuff.png across to tilesets again... Sorry...
OK. I copied the new Mapstuff.png over, but I haven't updated the overall grid map yet with the changes.

Actually, I made an inside for the tent, too; also completely RTP

All events can be changed or removed as needed (there's quite a few because I wanted the fire's sound to be a bit dynamic... Also the guy in the tent doesn't say anything yet)

Ooooh. There may be some mapping awkwardness if the map shingamix posted in maps and screenshots is the one they intend to post here. There's a big wall at the edge of the map that may clash with your lake thingy.

But that's for another day, once all the maps are in.

That said, the worlds looking good. Cants wait to see it finished.

Do you think it would be OK if I added a staircase to access that chest, or removed it entirely? Because as it stands, the player can't reach that destination because the cliff next to it is unreachable (lol).

Edit: I think I'll take another map; either A-1 or C-1 if those are still open.

Cool, jomarcenter. Now what I need from you to integrate this map into the world is a map file (with the extension .rvproj2). They're found in the /Data/ folder of your project file. Otherwise I can't put it into the project and that's not good, right? That map looks fantastic, though.

Sorry it's been so long. These aren't super good, but hey, at least I did it. lol. I actually have no idea what these are really.
What are you talking about? You're the most reliable contributor here, relaaax. I'm basically counting on you to create this whole project, you know that, right? I'm just kidding, you're the best ever and I thank you for every single time you've submitted a map.
Also, I don't even know what map to reserve for you. Didn't you want to do that "every row, every column" thing? That seemed admirable.

Wow. Thanks for the really nice maps! There was a slight problem with G-6 though - and it's my fault, not yours. The bottom-right tile on jomarcenter's map for F-5 clashed with G-6's top-left corner. So I hope you don't mind that I altered the hedge shape to include this. Here is a screenshot of what was done:





Since jomarcenter's map was completed first, that means that his desert tile on the top-left corner has priority. If you want to re-edit G-6 to fit with that corner tile, then be my guest. However, if you'd like to stick with my edit, just say so. Apologies!


I was especially excited to see that you were a newcomer yet took on the maps with a lot of edges. Good on ya, mate ;)

Oh, I get what you mean. Well. I guess the solution is that ShinGamix will just have to alter his original plans, because VideoWizard posted his map first.

Ahhhhhhhhahahahahahahhaha...  Funny to see that Paladin also adopted my "Odd Pond" idea of having the ice goddess statue thing in the middle of a really small and strange pond.

Wonder how those will turn out in game, if there will be a quest of some sort for both?

@ Tai_mt. I thought it looked a bit like a mermaid. And I put more on the ice maze. Maybe all three are somehow connected in a quest. We should consider that.

@Cashmerecat. I am now officially e proud owner of a map in ever letter and every number. Though I suppose another 9 wouldn't hurt. Or another f. Or another 10....

Waaaaah! I can't think!

On another note I've taken some of these maps and expanded them myself into fuller maps. So my mappings getting much better.

Yeah, Paladin, it does look like a mermaid.  But, it's like an ice statue (which is weird), so I just assumed it was Undine from the Secret of Mana series and she was the water goddess.  :D

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the final product going to be one 170x130 map, or a 100 small maps linked together?

If it's 100 small maps linked together I can provide you with the evented map transfer system used by Ace Academy.

Given that I saw an event that detects teleports while poking around, I'd say it will be 100 (later 144) maps. Since the world is supposed to wrap around, yet the edges of A1-J1, A1-10, A10-J10, and J1-10 don't line up with the edge of the map.

Is this possible?

And this is just the overworld, remember. There already have been maps created for interior locations (which should start with Map145.rvdata2 or someone's getting an error)
