    Hello everyone!

    This is my new project. Well, kinda new.
    I'm revisiting an old project idea I developed around feb/march last year.
    It actually was planned as a visual novel-ish project for Nanoreno 2017.
    But I did put it on hold because I had some troubles with it!
    Since then I've been tinkering on it every now and then... Mostly on art stuff and few dialogues, hehe. The old art stuff will not be used though.

    Within the last couple of days I reworked a lot of the base idea and am ready to dev away on this! Yay!

    For now it's called Project Ruins.
    An actual title will be announced later.
    Prior title was: Ruins of Ralumnea. But I'll most likely change this.


    Synopsis

    As long as Iris can remember she always felt a deep hatred for beasts of all kind, and because of tragic circumstances she joined the hunter guild Grimea at a young age. Nowadays she’s gladfully hunting down all harmful beings to guard the people unable to protect themself. Her newest quest leads her, and her partners, to a seemingly calm village at the edge of a grand old forest.

    The village has trouble with roaming monsters lately.
    Iris, her mentor and his sister have been sent to investigate the situation and to put an end to it.
    But they'll find something rather unexpected.


    Gameplay and Features
    • A short project. Aiming for 1.5-3 hours, but can't tell yet.
    • Story-driven, including a few choices that will branch the story.
    • Multiple endings
    • Talking to villagers, exploring the environment and side quests will help to understand the situation better. The NPCs will not right away tell the player everything about the world, as the main character is supposed to be part of this world and to know quite a bit about it… Dialogue shall feel natural, not like explaining the world to the player behind the protagonist.
    • Battle System, simple but fun. (Maybe no leveling system, as there’s no need for it…)
    • Cut-Ins? CGs? Artsy stuff~
    • VN style dialogue (Portraits)
    • Very atmospheric.
    • Original OST (I commissioned one for this project back in 2017, it's composed by LaurenceL aka @Larry Jones , and I really want to finally put it to use!)

    I had to put this project on hold once more. I just hit that same roadblock I hit everytime while working on this, haha...
    Maybe I need to grow as a dev or this is just not meant to be.

    But I started a new project, which I'll soon-ish share something about :)
    Another idea I've been toying with for months now.
