Projectile Animation - how do you make it?

I am trying to make fireball/lightning bolt/magic missile effects. Stuff that shoots from the caster's hand.

Right now I am using one Animation near the casters hand then triggering a second that shoots a cross the screen. It looks good, but not amazing. Does anyone have another, smoother way to accomplish a projectile effect?

having worked with *a* system that uses projectiles (although not MV) I can tell you that one way is to always have *a* projectile object on standby, and being updated every time.
at the moment of shooting it, the object recieves its shooting origin, its shape, its direction and speed, and it is updated until it reaches it's destination point.

I didn't make the system, I haven't fully adapted it, but that is one way of doing it.

If you want something like this
You probably need a plugin. But the work around would be a moving sprite I guess?
Or are you talking about a battle system?

Then I think Victor Engine is your best best. Not sure of any others that can do this.
