Ok didnt realise how overwhelming the tilesets were, there are so many!

Is there any 'defaults' that go together, as I know they are labelled but just curious to if there are any ones that are recommended to set up!

For instance there is outside 1-5 do I use these from A1-A5 or use them from B-E pages?! :D

Sooo excited once I have this soretd!

Everything that has a label with A# has to go exactly into the numbered A-slot, it will not work correctly in any other slot.


All other slots (without A-Numbers) can be in any of the B to E slots in any combination you want.


Because the tiles are larger than the RTP tiles, you cannot make "general" tilesets as with the RTP, you'll need more tilesets and have most of them targeted to specific map types.

The top left most tile of B needs to be set as a Star(*). Someone, correct me on this if I am wrong. So If you place a set that has something there you need to use it will be a problem.

You're correct.  C-E don't need that blank spot, but B does.  It doesn't actually have to be blank, but if it has something in it attempting to draw with it will get you nowhere.

In all of the Pioneer Valley Games tilesets, all the B-E have the empty slot there.

This exactly. You can use any set from TileB - TileE as TileB, but whenever you do, the topmost left tile in whatever you use for the TileB tileset has to be set to a star passability. So I get in the habit of always leaving this blank / star for all TileB-E sets in case I need to move any of them into TileB.

I can't recall the reason why, but I believe it's the way the editor determines the passability between what's autotiles (TileA1 - TileA5) and what's add-ons (TileB - TileE). If the upper left tile in TileB is X, then every tile (including the autotiles) will be treated as "same as"; if it's O, then every tile is treated beneath the player, including walls and such.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
