So I am trying to make an event in which one must talk to a certian character to get another character in a different map to say something different to you move once you talk to him afer you talk to that original certian character. Heres an example:

Talk to Guy A.

Guy B inherits new dialogue and walking path after you talk to Guy A.

Talk to Guy B and Guy B says inherited dialogue and goes about his inherited walking path after talking to Guy A.

Guy B stays where he walked to until the end of time. Never reseting to his original state.

To put it simply, switches are what you need from the sound of things. If you include screenshots of the actual event pages we would be able to be a lot more exact though.

I just registered in the forums to help you on this one.

You'll notice it is my first post here. lol

When I was younger I used to play with RMXP; although I haven't used much of VX Ace; it sounds like the event part is pretty much the same thing.

The Idea is:

Talk to Guy A. By the end of the conversation, activate a Switch A (turn it to ON).

Guy A will have a different event, a different convo while Switch A is activated. To make sure he doesn't repeat himself.

Guy B will also have a different event while A is ON. The event is him walking around, through a path you chose (back in XP times, we had to do "move 1 up, move 1 up, move 1 right...).

By the End of the path, you should make a third "actor". A invisible one. So when Actor B touches it, a 2nd switch will be turned ON. And Guy B will have a third event, while both Switch A and B are turned ON. This event will be him, staying put.

Unless I am missing something, Guy B part 1 will never play properly because you have it turning off part 2, which would play INSTEAD of part 1 if the switch is on, but if the switch is off it has nothing to turn off.

Sorry, I'm sleepy enough I just hope I'm making sense here... :p

Except for Guard Event 1 (I have no idea why you turns the switch off by the end of the convo). All looks good.

Just add an extra invisible actor like I said. And turn on a 2nd switch once the Guard collides with it.

openned VX Ace.

by the end of the route. Turn on a 2nd switch to make him stay put. (on the new event, "teleport him to the end of the path")

With the teleport, every time you change maps, he will teleport to where he is supposed to be.
