Synopsis and features
Puzzleton is a puzzle game. The game features 7 main puzzles, which each have 10 levels of difficulty. Solving puzzles will earn you Prize Tickets which can be used in various ways. You can exchange them for Gold, and buy items to remove obstacles in the Prize Maze (a very large maze). Or you can use them to watch a show in the Theatre, have the Wise Man impart one of his wisdom’s upon you, or exchange them for Casino Tokens to play one of the three casino games. There are many things to collect in Puzzleton: there are 80 different trading cards to collect, with which you can battle and trade, there are 10 collectibles that can be obtained in the Casino, and there are 7 trophies to be won. Completing the full game should take you a few hours!
Puzzleton has the following 7 main puzzles:
- Maze: a normal maze where you have to find the treasure chest and teleport point. The mazes get bigger as you advance in levels.
- Tile Walker: you have to pass over every single tile that has a blue circle on it to complete a level. Here’s the catch: you can only pass once over tiles with blue circles. Make sure you end up on the upper side of the room! In higher levels, there are fewer solutions and you have to follow a more complicated path.
- Monsters!!!: it’s dark and the monsters have come out. Find the hole in the fence to escape before one of the monsters catches you. Watch out for grass, though; it slows you down. In higher levels faster monsters appear and there may be obstacles that are difficult to see in the dark.
- Catch the Cat: there’s a mysterious red button that only reacts to cats in this dungeon. A cat will walk in circles, always hugging the wall. It’s up to you to change the cat’s path so it crosses over the button by pushing boulders in its way. As you advance in levels, you’ll have to think more creatively to change the cat’s path.
- Factory: getting to the treasure chest would be easy, if only you weren’t in a factory. Arrow tiles are on the floor that force you into the direction they are facing. Not only that, but there are also levers that can flip the direction of the yellow arrows and make horizontal bridges vertical and vice versa. In higher levels the factory gets bigger and the solution more complicated.
- Quiz: three genies will ask you questions to which you have to respond with a number. You have to answer all three correctly, or you’ll be removed from the level. In higher levels the questions are harder and may require you to complete other puzzles first.
- Fire Fest: the dragon statue speaks to you and shows you in which order you should light the beacons. Don’t displease the dragon by making a mistake, or all flames will go out. In higher levels the number of beacons increases, and you’ll also have to select the correct color flame for each beacon.
This game is designed so it’s suitable for kids, too (contains no swearing, violence, etc.). Younger kids may have trouble to complete the highest levels of the puzzles, though.

Additional info
A few tidbits of info:
- A few years ago I made Puzzle Party on VX Ace. Puzzleton is quite similar in terms of concept to that game, but all of the puzzle levels and collectibles in Puzzleton are completely new.
- The casino games are slightly stacked in the player’s favor, so you won’t lose a lot. One game is set to break even on average.
- The man in the shop will pay 10 Gold for your Prize Tickets on average.
- The Wise Man has 40 different sayings.
- I’ve included a help guide, so you can check it when you’re unsure about something. It does not contain a walkthrough, though.
- As I’m the only one who worked on this game, and there were no beta testers, it’s possible that some small bugs remain. Of course I’ve tested for bugs myself. Also, all puzzles are solvable as I’ve played through all of them successfully. If you encounter a bug, please shoot me a PM.
- The game is encrypted. If you’d like an unencrypted version, so you can see the events and such, shoot me a PM. You may copy events, but do not claim the game as your own. The standard download in encrypted because you could figure out the solution to the puzzles if you’d look at the events.
