Hello,

I've only been using the trial version of MV so far, and in a virtual machine version of Windows 7- I had enough trouble trying to get a project CREATED, but now I can't even open it- every time I try to, I get a message that qtwebengineprocess.exe has stopped working, which makes the entire program crash...if it helps at all, the vmware is running on my Mac which is on El Capitan but if the problem is my graphics driver, I'll probably have to update to the new OSX to fix my problem, and this is the signature for the problem I'm getting:

Problem signature:

  Problem Event Name: InPageError

  Error Status Code: c0000008

  Faulting Media Type: 00000000

  OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1

  Locale ID: 1033

  Additional Information 1: 0a9e

  Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

  Additional Information 3: 0a9e

  Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

Can anyone please help me, or will I just have to buy the full mac version and hope it's more stable?

Edit: Sorry, I forgot to provide the bug report thing:

  • Am I using plugins? No, I can't even get my project to open.
  • Is your bug already reported by another person? No, despite exensive searching, I can't find any other topics on this.
  • Bug Explanation: Whenever I try to open my RPG maker project, I instantly get messages saying that both qtwebengineprocess.exe and RPG Maker MV have crashed- TWO messages about MV itself, actually.
  • Error Report: I cannot open the debug console.
  • Exact Steps on How to Replicate Bug: Windows 7 VMware on most current version of OSX El Capitan Macbook pro, open trial version of RPG Maker MV on VMware, open project, program crashes twice with the qtwebengine.
  • Sample Project (REQUIRED): The program is just default nothing, considering I can't get it open, so...

Which version of MV Trial are you running? (you can update the trial to 1.3.1 in the same way as any other version, and if you're still at 1.0 then this is highly recommended)

where did you save the project (path)? does the VM has access rights on that path?

It is very unlikely that it's your graphic driver, and even if it is you'll need to update the driver in the VM, not in MacOS.

MV support is for game development support, not for getting the editors to run.

Ah- it's 1.0, yeah, that's probably what the issue is- trying to update it isn't working, however, running the 1.3.1 update exe only results in asking what language I'd like before telling me that RPG Maker MV has not been updated, even while running as an admin- perhaps I'm doing this wrong? I'm really just running the exe from the desktop...

As for the project itself- it's saved in the program files, like it should be, and I even have a copy on my desktop, for good measure. It should be letting me run them, but the program keeps crashing.

And sorry for posting in the wrong forum, I'll make sure to look more closely at what goes where next time.

Nope - while developing, the project should NOT be in the program files, because that folder is protected against "unexplainable" changes - the default output when you first made a project was directed to your user document folder, and that is the best place for it.

That said, the 1.0 had several problems with localisation (it couldn't be used on a lot of non-english computers because it expected several structures exactly as placed in american or japanese computers). Try using the full 1.3.1 installer, that should automatically convert into a trial if you don't enter the key. Or try redownloading if the current trial had been updated to 1.3.1

Okay, the program is updated and I saved it to C: instead of my program files this time, and it's running smoothly! Thank you for your help- I didn't know that the demo version could be updated like the full version!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
