Quality Screen Recorder Programs

Does anyone have some good recommendations for some good screeen recording software? I'd like to start the process of recording footage from my game, but for the life of me, I can't find a quality screen recording software. 

I tried open broadcasting, and it was TERRIBLE. I don't have a bad PC at all, but it constantly said it was 'high encoding' unless I set the quality so low it was unusable. 

And this was recording RPGmaker gameplay, which is obviously not taxing upon newer PC's.

I know that one's always recommended, so I just wanted to clear the air that I'd prefer a different one. And cost isn't that much of an issue, as long as it works on your average PC (Windows 8, 6gb of ram, 180gb of space)

I like Bandicam and its custom screen recording feature - you can resize the window of whatever you want to record of your desktop. The only thing is that if you don't register (pay the one-time fee) there will be that watermark at the top.

I'll add another vote for bandicam. I've used it for over a year and had no issues with quality so far.
