Question about battles!

    Hey guys, Drenz here! :]

    I had a question about how I could make it so when one of my character's use an ability in battle, I can have a text box pop up with a Spell Incantation beforehand. I've looked on the tab for triggers and none of them give you a Spell usage as one of the triggers.

    I'm not sure if this is possible in this engine, or if anyone knows a way to do so, but I thought I'd at least ask and see what you guys think I could do. :]

    I think you can make this with a common event. Make your ability to call a common event in the "effect" part of the database. I'm on my job now, so I can't test it, but I'm almost sure.

    @SolonWise So I've created the Common Event in the Database, but I can't find how to have the ability call a common event when it is used. How would I go about that? Under the skill itself there is no option to call a common event. :/

    @Drenz Sorry, I think this only work in MV, I see just now that you use the 2003 version.

    Database->Troops->Battle Events->Conditions->Battle Command

    Also you can use Call Common Event from the Events Section

    In RM2k this is standard option.
    In RM2k3 unfortunatelly not. I know 1 easy option and probably a few not easy.
    Easy option - you make animation for full screen (Animations => Scope => Screen), and make special animation file with false windowskins graphics and text and normal animation, later make animation setting with windows and text appear up to screen and later disappears and appear normal animation - all in 1 animation setting. In the end you set this animation for this skill.
    Minuses - a lot of pictures with animations, 1 skills for 1 characters (if you want display text in style "Alex hit Slime"), only full screen animations.
