Question about skills - Vanish

Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere, but I didn't see it.

Anyway, I am looking through the skills and I have a big question about how some of them work. The particular skill I am examining is the skill Vanish. The description says that it should work for 5 turns, but I don't see where we input the condition that it works for five separate turns. Can someone help me out? How does the game know to run it for 5 turns?

I'm working with the official tutorial, where the Mystic Thief class uses a similar skill, also called Vanish, which is only supposed to work for 3 turns. When I am making this new skill, how does the game know to run it for the proper number of turns? Under effects I had to go to Effects -> Add State -> Hide. In effects the only time I can add a turn length is when I am adding a buff to it, though, so I can't add that to a state. Can someone help me out?

Add State [Hide] 100%

Go to states and check the Hide state. It lasts 5 turns.[/Hide]
