Celianna and I were bouncing some ideas around about possible tile packs, and we want to hear your thoughts on whether a pack of house tiles would be something you would find useful.

This sort of pack would be made up of a few basic tiles, and a very large variety of pre-made houses.

I've got a couple of images to illustrate what we mean by pre-made houses:

The finished product would have a few staples (floors, fences, decorations) as well as several sheets of houses that are already assembled and decorated for you - making it easy to build a town with just a few clicks.

Note that I don't have any details about the  style, size, the price or when the pack would be available. Right now, we just want to see if there's enough interest so that we can look into devoting some time to this pack. :)

I think it would be really neat if the set was divided into three or four ACE, XP, XP-ACE, and DS or something along those lines with houses or types you don't commonly see in the other packages so they help fill out that no matter what set you may have purchased in the past.

That'd be awesome :D It'll add more variety to houses, and that means more nice and detailed houses and possibilty of more cities :D

I'd also like to add, there could be buildings that are specific like blacksmiths, inns, schools, castles etc.
That'd be more awesome! Variety is spice of life, isn't it? :)

While a nice idea, it could lead to a lot of places looking the same. I'd be more for a tileset with more roof choices, slants, bends, wall/roof features, etc.

I'm all for it! Personally I'd also like to see some premade castles / towers too but this is something I'd definitely be interested in.

I think this sort of package would be great if done in a way, as I'm sure is intended, to create a variety of different looking towns. A lot of the tile sets when standing alone can make similar looking towns at times. I'm sure more experienced mappers are better at avoiding this but not me. XD

I think it would be nice to have more environment decorations, details like hanging icicles or leaves in gutters for example and some more house fixtures (porch lights, door hangings, ect). Just stuff that could make each town more atmospheric.

I think it would be nice to have options to maybe make tree houses, mud houses, and other non traditional houses as well.

The set would include building blocks that let you create your own houses, too. :)

But, it would be primarily useful to people who aren't artistic, or who want a little extra help with mapping. :)

what about different time periods? houses looked different 200 years ago, then they do today. I personally don't want any modern looking houses in my game, because they would disrupt the apnesphere I'm trying to create. So, can you make outdoor stuff that's from the middle ages to about 200 years ago as well? If so, I would highly consider buying this... Oh, Also tiles for creating houses in an abandonded town would be nice for my game too. Though i do realize you can't give everybody everything they want. those are just some sugjestions

Ok then!

I imagine the next part of the question would be based on the compatibility of the resource style. I.E: DS, RTP, etc.

I'd like this, but I'd like it more if they were house "segments" rather than complete houses, so we could mix and match to add just a little bit of variety. Premade houses would sure make mapping a lot faster, but you'd end up with too much "the same" within a game and between games.

For instance, enough "pieces" to make either a house that's long horizontally, or a house that's long vertically, or an L-shaped house. A plain wall, a wall with a closed window, one with an open window, one with a windowbox ...

I'm looking for anceint ruins tiles. Somthing like Aztec and/or Egyption, but that doesn't mean I'm going to get them anytime soon. just wait, I'm sure you'll get your dungeon tiles

I would like it. It be spectacular if it could be in parts like Shaz said. Like in the example pictures having the back half of the houses and you could then overlay the front portion of the house or a pre made patio/balcony. I love the idea of different types of buildings: schools, courthouse etc. That sounds outstanding to me because while I can do ok at making houses.. other types of buildings aren't as easy for me :)

Would this include some premade houses/rooms to or could that be an expansion later on if this one takes off?

I would love it! This is something that's really lacking in RPG Maker's built-in functionality (along with battle system customization).

As I intend to remake my city map some days later, I'm interested in having more tiles to work with.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
