@Aesica : I've only heard of Romancing Saga, and that is because the review of the game sad Let's Just be Friends as their official ranking for the game.

@kirbwarrior : Yeah, too many games have you with a party of 1 for far too long, I will agree. Which is why I'm trying all I can in my games to get you to 3 or 4 as fast as I can.

I think what many makers forget is you can have temporary characters for parts where it wouldn't make sense to have actual characters yet. Like, a generic dog is a perfectly fine character to have help you through the first dungeon before the game actually starts, or how 2/3rds of your party in FF6 is there only until the first boss. Or, if the subplot is simple enough, you don't even need encounters; "Travel to the city to meet up with someone!". I'm glad you do that, but early game a 2 person party is enough to be playing a jrpg.

When seeing RPG Maker games, I don't really expect something high; not because of so-called stigma around them, not because that I'm arguing people's work in those, but because simply I don't wanna get much disappointment when giving one of those a try while trying to appreciate what the devs put into their works.

For the question asked in the survey, actually, it's neither of the choices I'd like to say that it's the most important thing in RPG Maker games. It's the presentation of the game itself, like, how well the devs make use of whatever they have and put them together in the game.
Why? Because a game may have great graphics, great music, great mechanics, or great story, but if the game fails to present those in unison, then it's kinda eeeeeh for me.

This might be a slow burner for most RPG Maker games I may stumble upon, even for mine. Should I have to have a hook on one of RPG Maker games, it's either the gameplay or the graphics, I think...

Effervesce Fallacy™ - PV - C'est La Vie, for the best viewing experience, run the EXE, and adjust the audio via Options. The footsteps sounds are once again, barely audible. :frown: The PV only sounds as intended, if BGM Volume is set to 20%, or 40%, depending on your audio hardware.
