I've been kind of on and off from RPG Maker, and now on Linux I'm not really sure how to install RPG Maker without reinstalling Windows.
Anyway, at the moment my current stories have increasingly relied less and less on action, and more on puzzle solving--but in an abstract sense: the MC write and solves ciphers. Their sometimes a code developer struggling to reach the same level of success as other better programmers. (Essentially the opposite of Case in Neuromancer.)
How well would a pure puzzle game adapt to RPG Maker MV? I'm thinking one revolving around writing and solving ciphers, disrupting electronics. No random encounters, only boss fights--which could involve solving random cipher patterns. Bosses become playable characters later on. Not quite temporary party members, which room mate seemed to hate.
I'm not to worried about stories, I have some already written as a poet, short story, and novella writer.
