Questions from a newbie

wow hi,its my first time on a forum and using rpg maker. i want to make a serious game for a friend (before 2 months ends) and yeah, how to make or add the walls,like in a room.  one map with walls and stuff. how do you make buildings as well. sorry if i cant provide a picture because my internet is slow.  (i really need to make a physiological horror puzzle game for the friend,i owe him) and then providing custom music from  the internet,like soundcloud. 

how do you create custom sprite and tilesets. i also downloaded this overlay thing(?) how do i put it in the rpg maker itself. also adding like the faces, i want to use my art for it (i draw in paint tool sai tho) like,an avatar.

You won't if you don't even know the basics, just sayin'...


I suggest you look up beginner's tutorials to get you started. There's plenty to be found on here and other sites.

Now, another thing you definitely should do is look up RM tutorials, these can help IMMENSELY with learning the program.

Another thing would be to download and play some RM horror games, to give you a feeling for what you need.

However, making a serious and good game takes time and practice, especially when you're new to the program. Unless you're a fast learner and a technological savant, I doubt you will make a long horror game without hitting snags. This is especially if you're using the default Run Time Package.

However, it is not impossible.
