Okay, so i'm making a game that is going to involve interactions based on what character is in the party.
My first three events with this are examining a flower pot, a tree, and a way into a town (so basically a doorway). The characters i'm using here are named Dorothy and Clara.
So I make Dorothy's event. She is examining a flower pot and says "The Guard Anna's flowers." I grab Clara from her little test area and bring her in the party to the flower pot, and interact...but Dorothy's event plays before Clara's does. I'm using the Conditional Branch event, making it so the conditional branch: Clara in party should trigger her event listed under that, right...? Instead of playing Dorothy's before it?
I get confused. I try End Event Processing after Dorothy's Event, but then the WHOLE EVENT doesn't play!
I'm a little frustrated at this point but I continue on and leave all three beginning party events as is.
How do I make it so when Clara is in the party that her event plays? Is there even a way to do that?
My next question is related to text sounds. Like, think Undertale. Each character makes a noise while they talk (Papyrus, Asgore, Flowey, etc) and I wanted to do this with my game. Though, I haven't found ANYTHING indicating how to do it in 2003, it's always either VX ACE or something newer. Is it possible to do text sounds? I want to add this because I have an idea of which characters would sound like, and I can't afford any of the newer makers.
(that's also why i'm using RPG Maker 2003 in the first place-the newer makers are like what, 78 - 90 dollars? I can't wait for the steam christmas sale...)
