hi guys im new and needed some guidance for my game
so i thought qould be better to just ask most things i remember in a single thread:
(sorry i ask so much but its better this way, i know some things are too easy)

1- change the menu music? (i could change the image, but wanted to change music and maybe "new game" etc fonts

2- make it so a char can press a direction rly fast and only change direction, not actually move; also, change player's speed in game

3- im not doing a game with actual fights (like it is standard once you instal, you have some chars, each with stats (dmg, hp, etc); so, i managed to delete all but one, but i wanted to edit the X menu (item, skill, equip, status, save, end game), including:
only showing HP near her name and image; remove the save (there will be places for it), remove skill, equip and status; maybe even remove step count and gold

4- i wanted to add an HP counter without having to check X tab, is there some tutorial?

5- when hp is 0, game is over (its not happening)

6- event only happens when you face X direction (handy for non human objects to click), because right now i have closet and i can click when facing it, but if im facing left, it also displays the message :/

7- make it so when game is alt tabbed, music stops (not only the game pauses)

8- instead of show picture, show video? is it possible

Almost all of the answers you are looking for is in the help file of rpg maker.
Changing things like music and fonts are fairly easy.
there are plugins that will help with this.
When it comes to only accessing an event from one direction, i havent seen any plugins that will help with that.
I recommend searching a lot of this stuff in this forum as chances are it's been asked before.

@Skunk The OP is asking for RMXP, not RMMV...

@Pedro Poupado
If you're really using RMXP, then most of your wishes will require scripts - in later Makers some of them could be done by default, but RMXP has too limited a database for that (although it has better options on manual mapping than later makers)

Please confirm that this is the maker you're using (best by setting the primary use in your profile), because several of your points would be much easier if you're using a later maker.

No MV is not free. MV is the latest (and so the most expensive) RPG Maker.

As for your other questions:
1. You mean the title menu? For the first, you can change it through the database (System -> Title BGM). Font changes need to be through script edits.
2. I have no idea what you mean, sorry :aswt:
3. Also a script (edit). Check out this one, it might help you.
4. Also a script. Look for a HUD script.
5. I think you can use common event for this, but I'm not sure.
6. You can use a conditional branch for this. On tab 3, there's the option "Character Player is Facing [Direction].
7. I think you need a script for this, but I'm not sure one exists.
8. Also a script. There's one on these forums for XP called Zeus Video Player.

XP is not free either.

Please don't list all your questions in a single thread. You're going to have conversations happening here on 8 different topics. It will be hard to know what people are talking about and when something is answered. And it will be hard for other people to find answers if they have the same questions. One question = one thread.

1. "New Game" is on the title screen, not the menu. So you want to change the title screen music? That is in the database on the System tab, under Title BGM.

5. If game over is not happening when HP is 0, it means you have other actors in the party who have HP. To remove other actors and start the game with just one, you do not delete them in the Actors tab. You go to the System tab and delete them from the Initial Party.

7. Lots of people have wanted/attempted this - I don't think any have succeeded.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
