So I have a part in my game where my character comes across an enemy camp.  He steps on the event and remarks for a while that he should go around and steps back.  Now I have it set up so that when he steps forward again the character says concisely that he should go around (using self switch).

The issue is that I have a line of these events duplicated and adjacent to each other to make sure the player character cant get into the camp.  When I step on one of the adjacent events it starts up the longer event remark instead of the concise one.

Some reason I can't wrap my mind around how to duplicate the events such that if he steps on the event once, no matter which event he steps on the second time the more concise remark shows up.

Can anyone help?

On my journey of character rework: I had this character, she was meant to be just a princess that joins your party. And at long term she was just uninteresting... So I tweaked her to be a rebel agaisn't the royalty before meeting up with the party.

Quick tip for any other ametuer pixel artists! When trying to create a colour palette, enabling Antialiasing can speed up the process of creating different shades! Just place your lightest colour and your darkest colour next to each other, select both pixels, and stretch it out!
