Like, if I own both 2k3 and Ace (which I do), am I legally allowed to use assets from 2k3 in Ace?

yes, and that has always been the case - in fact, one of the main reasons for the release of the older makers was to make their resources legally available.

However, file conversion is for you to do and you need to follow the instructions in the EULA - because RM2K(3) have been pirated a lot, the EULA specifically requires registration before use (which is different compared to the EULA's of the other makers)

    Gotcha, thanks.

Actually, I don't need to convert anything. I just want to use the 2k3 battlebacks for something.

Note, this applies to the RTP assets.  If you're using assets created by other people, they may not have the same terms so you would need to check with the artists.
