Is it possible to place events, like chests, random in a dungeon when the player enters the dungeon for the first time?

Bet you didn't search first ;)

Random Event Positions by Tsukihime

I'm not sure if it places them randomly EVERY time you enter the map, or just the first time, and then remembers where it goes for every time after that. It wouldn't take much modding to make it do that if it doesn't already.

I did do a search with the key words in the topic. I found nothing :(

After that I searched youtube, but also did not find something about that.

I will take a look at that script. Thank you.

So I took a look at the script. Well I am anoob, and my english is not that good. I need some help with this.

I read this and I have some questions:

** Usage To designate an event page where the event's position is randomized, create a comment and write <random position region: x type> For some region ID x The region ID can be a fixed number such as 1 or 2, or it can be a reference to a game variable such as v[2] which will take the value of variable 2. The type determines when position randomization occurs start - only once in the game: the first time the event is loaded init - whenever the event is created (eg: map loading) page - whenever you change to that page If that page is active when the map is loaded, then the event will be randomly moved to a tile in that region. This is applied to events on a per-page basis, so you may need to add the comment to multiple pages. In the configuration there is a switch that will allow you to disable random event positioning if the switch is ON. Note that the "start" type does not memorize the event's location, so you will need a different script for that.
So this line is to call the script:  <random position region: x type>   What do I actually type there? This: <random position region: 2>   for a region 2?

Also I was thinking about a variable to set its place once its placed, but thats for later. First I have to be able to place them

Noob, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

I would say it'd be this:

<random position region: 2 start>to tell it to place the events randomly on region 2, and once they're initially placed, to remember where they were and put them in the same spot every time you return to that map.
Note the comment about the switch. You will need to adjust the script and specify a switch id that you haven't used for anything else (because you don't want it to be accidentally turned on). Then in your switches, name that switch to make sure you don't use it for something else later.

If you have more questions about how to use the script, you should post them in the topic for that script, not here. Only come back here if you find the script doesn't do what you need (and you've got confirmation from the author that it doesn't do what you need).

Judging from the screen shots on Tsukihime's page, yes. (I am not home in front of the maker to test this)

Its sometimes confusing where to post Shaz, I will post more questions about the script in the proper forum.

That Switch you say is, as far I can see, for not random placement. So if its Off, it will place randomly, and when On, it will not and keep the event's original placement. Allthough that's what I understand of it.

Thank you for your help.

Hint: do not forget to name that switch in the control variable event command - if you forget to name it, you might accidentally use it for something else, and then the script would be malfunctioning...
