Random Mid-Combat Dialogue

For my new project , I would humbly like to request a script that makes it so that randomly before or after a boss attacks, he throws out some dialogue. I think it would help spice up the combat parts of my project once it's in the later stages.

Maybe you can settle right now for using troop events at specific turns?

It could work in a pinch, but it wouldn't REALLY be what I need.

Finer control would be nice. Like, for example, dialogue when the boss's health falls below a certain percentile. Or when certain skills are used.

For certain skills, if the skills are specific for the boss, you could probably utilize common events for that...

Well, yes, that can be done. But I would PREFER to make it random(we don't need repetitive dialogue. TAKE THIS TAKE THIS TAKE THIS CHAAARRGE DX +1 if you got the reference)

Also, what about dialogue on boss health falling below a certain point?

You can always randomize the text messages to be shown by the common event...


as for falling, you can do that with troop events I think (I think there's an option there to run commands during certain turns or when a certain enemy hits a certain HP), else you can also opt to have a troop event that's always ON and checks the boss's HP

Common events. The impatient man's script request, it seems. I'll look into that.

Test it out using common events... I think it's highly doable using that... :)

Hey, how about an update on this?

Yes, it worked, but no, not quite what I want. I want the dialogue to happen BEFORE he attacks, not afterwards.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
