Do people share evented systems like others share their plugins? Is that a thing?

I think I do. I try to make tutorials of what I have been able to figure out with events. And I have a lot of systems that I am experimenting with to see what I want to use in a game.

But maybe you mean sharing sample games so people can copy the events?

In that case, I have seen a couple people who have done that.

I recall Caz did that on itch a while ago for a couple of things. But that's all I've seen so far.

Oh... ok, I guess I have just missed it then :p

Figured it might be a way for some to give back if they wanted.

It could potentially be pretty neat, not everyone is into making stuff like that or have a hard time learning it.

Some more complicated systems could also be a template for others to shape into other things like many plugins are.

Well, I only have shared my tutorials on YouTube. I don't feel qualified to post my tutorial ramblings here! LOL!

But if anyone watched one of my tutorials and wanted me to try to upload it somehow to share instead of recreating it, I would probably do that.

Though, most of my stuff is still experimental and not in any sort of final stage. And it isn't built the most efficiently or anything because I still have so much to learn.

Still, I am happy to share in any way I can if it helps other people on their journey of learning.

I remember this being a big thing in some communities around 2000~2005 to upload a full project folder that demonstrates something built with events in RPG2000/2003, to the websites, often for other devs to adopt it into their game if they understand how to even do that (because of the nature of CEs, maps and events, adding third-party's content is insanely complicated to manage).

We called it "scripts" back then, terms may be different depending on region and langauge. But I don't recall this kind of event-tech-releases was present longer than a few years. Users of RPG2000/2003 stopped doing it pretty much completely and some who were into RPGXP/VX/Ace continued traditions in similar way with sharing their own easy-to-copy script-code.

Which brings us up to the point that events should not be used for complex system-stuffs at all. That environment is somewhatlike the only option that RPG2000/2003 is giving you, but not desirable at all if there's a way better method. I can understand some prefer to tinker their cool custom animated title-screen on a map instead of writing a title-scene in code, that's okay, it happens way off from the game's main procedures, but everything else is no-no and rather bad for the game experience quality.

Events and maps will always produce unnecessary stress and add permanent inevitable flaws to the result you want others to play. They're there for bringing content to life, not for systems.

So the answer I'd like to give in conclusion from all that is... no, it's probably not a common way of tech-release (anymore). And for me, that impression (which can still be completely wrong) is a good thing.

Spanish
Back in early 2000s it was very common in Spanish sites. I think I can still find a bunch of what we called "examples". Like, I was late for the party but I did do a couple of them, one for making a bank and another one very incomplete for a battle system sort of thing.

As you can imagine from evented stuff, things weren't specially copy-and-paste, so they usually had a very long-winded explanation of what the "engine" was about (what we called these things, like how Akira says German peeps called it "scripts").

I have very fond memories of the example projects because they taught me many things and tricks for eventing. I'd love to see more of it although I share same sentiment as Akira and woul probably advise to keep them on a certain level of functionality. Like, tricks for cool scenes or something like that, and not really to make a full battle system with all bells and whistles.

On the other hand, whoever wants to can do whatever they want. And especially 2k3 you don't have any alternative. And I do respect a lot 2k/3 doing crazy stuff without the easiness of a proper programming language.

I did this a lot in another forum, and my tutorials are still there. Could also be there isn't an obvious place here to post them unlike Scripts.

I did one event demo for my custom RPG Maker 2003 battle system (using DynRPG). I also have my custom battle events tutorial linked in my signature with videos that show step by step how to create the stuff you can do with it. All of my games are unencrypted as well, in case people want to check out how stuff was made (lots of eventing.)

New update for Battle Castle: Shadow from the Past A Shadow's Echo. No gameplay changes or new content, but lots of things got renamed, including the game title, for extra immersion. Some things related to sound too, like activating chests and taking things.

I put out a new pack and I swear, I did not realize how it looks like the ones on the right are scared/nervous of the one on the left until way after o_O I just wanted to showcase some of them randomly xD
Well, if anyone has a funny, simple, easy RM game they want me to playtest/review, I would love it.
Someone close to me straight up told me they didn't think my relationship with my girlfriend would last. No lead up, very bluntly. Like it's obvious or something. Trying not to let it get to my head, but it's hard.
The distraction would be a life saver.

My first foray into a plugin that I plan to release. Working on something for those who want to set up a Dragon Quest style battle HUD with minimal fuss. Includes the ability to round the battleback corners to fit your windowskin and, of course, front-view animations.
