Re-activation

Hello, formerly I had RPGMaker working on my old PC and everything worked fine.  Eventually I upgraded and tried to re-install VXAce onto my new computer, however the product key states it is no longer considered valid.  I was wondering what I needed to do in order to reactivate it now that the key is no longer considered valid.  It is worth mentioning that I had purchased this version of RPGM maker through the official website.  Anyway, thank you for your time.

Which official website and which installer are you trying to activate?


About three years ago the DRM was changed due to problems with the original DRM service. As part of that, the old DRM servers were deactivated, and all older installers are looking for those.


If that is the problem, then all you need to do is download a current trial and use your old key to activate that.


The other problem might be a mistype of the key - in which case you should check it again against the original purchase - which might have been from the old main store (without account system), from the new main store (with account system) or from the forum store (which has been disabled a year ago but still keeps the data around.


If all else fails, you need to send a ticket to sales support from the main site, because we here on the forum cannot check the key itself.

I downloaded the program from this website.  I've already downloaded the old trial and used the activation key I was given, as there was issues at the time with that key as well.  As for a mistype?  I'm not sure about that but I still have the original product key I was given to deal with the DRM issues, but it doesn't work.  So for the ticket?  Do you mean the original product key, or am I misunderstanding?

If you already had problesm with your key in the past and been given a direct activation key, then you can only write another ticket to the official sales support, there is nothing we here on the forum can do anymore because we don't have access to the key database.


The advice I gave above was for people who have problems with a regular key.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
