Reaction Score?

While checking teh JS plugins from time to time and some games, and other, every forum
category and their threads has those "First message reaction score" as image below:



while some has score of 0, 1, 4, but my question to this is:

What is the "reaction score" and what is their purpose?

I'm curious why it's there though.

PS: Even when you know it, and explained, what do you think of this "reaction score" in overall?
Do you like it, or do you think it's usefull?

It means how many likes/sad/anger/haha/love/wow reacts the first post has.

Didn't even know it showed that as I tend not to hover over a thread and mostly browse the forum through 'New Posts'.

As of this post, certain reaction aren't counted for on the first post.

Wow is excluded for some reason. Don't know about Haha. Why?
