So, are these resources really suitable for kids?

As you can see, these are the special resources within the BaseResource folder gained from the official rmweb store.

Well, me having a 5 year old daughter - for one.

I mean, obviously i wont be letting her use those resources, but considering the product is marketed at kids who want to make games...

Some are slightly inappropriate (I can't look at bigger versions since I don't have MV), but not worse than some of the anime's I've watched with the kids.  My kids (and I think a lot of kids in general) don't sexualize things as much as us adults.

I would worry my teenage step-son might spend a bit too long looking at these, but he has the internet at his other home, so what can you do.

Dont get me wrong, I think the content is really nice, and the battlers are EPIC!!!!!!

I just think there should have been some kinda label, 15+ at least.

    I mean...

    I see what you mean...

Character1_19 is getting me all hot and bothered. Oh dear, I do have the vapors.

Edit: I dont see anything that'd cause me to cover the monitor when my boss enters the room.

Like, how is that appropriate for young kids?

Well, I agree none of these strike me as battlers... and to be fair... it's japan... and anime.

I think the less you have on the more impregnable your defense. character1_14 is dayum near a final boss. You can tell because of the upskirt. Also, she may be a 2000 year old witch.

The more I look at it it's more of a run way fashion exhibit... and  character1_19 is still hilarious in context.

The only battle these battlers are suited for are the battle little timmy has with himself privately when he realizes they make him feel funny. Random Encounter: Puberty has appeared.

    Fight

    Defend

    Escape

[Explain to mother why your pants are awkwardly bulging uncontrollably]

(I can't help myself from joking... someone please help)

When I do get MV, I won't go "Hey step-son, check out these slutty resources."  That would be asking for trouble (especially from the wife) and yeah I might move these to a different folder to not make them as easily accessible for the younger kids, but I won't forbid them from access to them either, unless the wife tells me to (because I'll be honest she's the boss).

@Dekita - Okay that is a bit much, now that I can really see it.

    @RoseOfCrimson - me too :)

Eh I am a little more bothered by them being called 'slutty resources' than the actual content myself. Except for the bear, that's really shameful.

But in all seriousness I don't find them really one way or the other, they mostly look goofy to me but of course different people have different values.

If you are that concerned about it being discovered by a kid you could always delete the files? Or make them inaccessible some other way.

What damage can be done? Have my son (7 years) right by my side and he thinks some of them are cute, some look nice, he likes the bear. Seriously, what can this image do to kids? There are zombies, monsters, things out of evil nightmares, so I really don't worry some skin.

The big boobs were mostly a "yeah okay whatever" annoying but sadly typical anime see it all the time. character1_16 made me feel bad for her; gravity seems to have forgotten to take effect on her shift and it's floating off her body in some illogical manner. But character1_23 was where I finally went "There's something wrong here." I mean, loli bikini girl doing the sexualized Popsicle thing?? I could say more about that picture... but I was really put off that this was something delivered with the program.

Now I don't have kids and don't really know what's good or bad for kids nowadays - but even setting aside kids - looking at myself as an adult... it's a bit confusing.

Those images just make me feel like I fell into someone's awkward soft-hentai stash. I don't really care either way but I just think it's odd they added them since what use do they have in the MV resources? You really can't get much use out of them. Portraits maybe but then there isn't much variety and style changes galore.

Yeah thinking about it, when I was a kid I would probably just be like, "omg her boobs are huuuuuge that's so perverted *snicker*" and that would be that.

There's an age where kids don't yet recognize it as being sexual, and an age where they do and usually think it's the funniest/most embarrassing thing (which is a harmless reaction, they probably would be too embarrassed to use those resources... and if by chance some kid DOES become a porn addict from looking at a drawing of a girl in a bikini, it was only a matter of time tbh...). But yeah not every kid is the same and it should be up to the parent to decide if their kid can handle this stuff or not.

The main thing I wonder is how most of these can be used in the game anyway. To go on title screens maybe?? They're a bit too randomly formatted to be portrait graphics or battlers.

Me when I opened this :

"Oh sheep oh sheep my wife is just besides me oh sheep oh sheep oh sheep!!!".

After calming down a minute (and my wife gone), I wondered "is this related to some sprites". I checked. No. Then I saw the "background" folder and deduced it must be some bonus to create an ecchi visual novel. I'm still at this conclusion for now.

And yes, the one just on top of my post just disturbed me quite much as well.

Yeeeup that one. (and yeah, camel toe... was my "I could say more")

I guess I should ask - if someone were to post that on this forums as their own contribution, does it pass the site's personal standards on it being a 'kid friendly' place? I feel like if someone had that in their game thread as a screenshot for the title page, they'd be asked to remove it. Maybe I'm wrong but.... if that is the case, then including it with the program doesn't really make sense.

I agree. Gave me visual novel vibes as well. Someone wanted us all to start making some real interesting VNs with this program haha
