What would be some reasons for a protagonist to get somebody to chase them? Or to provoke someone? I came up with a few ideas, can anyone help me with a few more? I want to use something like this to create more interesting puzzles. Here's the ones I have so far:

Make someone chase you so you can get them out of your way.

Make someone chase you so you can lure them to a switch or trap and make them trip it instead of you.

Provoke someone to start a fight.

Maybe make someone chase you into a trap and then you can go back to where you made em chase you from to get X item you needed.

Or make someone chase you so an ally can loot x item while you both are gone.

thats about all i got

1. To distract someone so that something else, of the sneaky variety, can happen. Things like distracting a guard to steal the treasure, or slip past him.

2. To recruit them to your party. Say for example a cat won't move from the spot until he gets a piece of fish, of which then he'll follow you around and might unlock an area in which only the cat can crawl to.

3. To lure into a trap, as you said. Get them away from their safe spot so that you can trap/kill them on your own terms.

4. To ask for help. The village is on fire, and you ask the guard to help you out, he'll then follow you to the incident.

5. A game of tag, hah. Little kids in the village want to play with you, and chase you around until you get caught and it's your turn. When you catch them, they'll give you a reward.

6. A more complicated web of lies, get two people to follow you with a lie, so they meet each other and then attack each other because they've got a beef with one another. Or you can set one of them up for a crime he didn't commit, and the other person will take them out. Or a simple love story "Hey Juliet, Romeo wanted to meet you at the tree." and "Hey Romeo, Juliet wanted to meet you at the tree."

7. Make fun of a guard whose duty is to not leave his post, until he can't take it anymore and smacks you, in turn having failed to do his duty and he sulks away.

@gomiamiheat6804 and @Celianna those are interesting ideas. The tag game also made me think of maybe a marco polo game. A child is blindfolded and you're required to make a noise but still avoid getting caught. It'd be hard to event, but it might be interesting if it could be done.

Developing on the guard idea:

- Make someone quit his spot from wherever to get them fired from their job. This could lead to you having some hired in their place, either to gain a favour with that person, or that person being more complacent towards you and looking the other way when you do something, or whatever.

- Make a guard chase you... so you can get caught and thrown in jail! Then escape and have access to the castle/palace interior which was inaccessible before, furthering the plot.

- Make a someone chase you so they can witness something, maybe a guard catching a thief or whatever red-handed and arresting him. Of course, you'd have something to gain from the criminal being out of the picture.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
