Welcome to RECIDIVIA!
RECIDIVIA is an old school inspired 2D RPG game for Windows and Mac. RECIDIVIA tells the stories of a Temple Guard's desperate attempt to repent for actions he believes to be fault of his own. What stands his way, his the truth behind what he's repenting for.

In ages before man, Gods and Goddess roamed the empty void and created worlds to call home.
A Goddess wanted to create her own world, her own land of paradise where she will breathe life into humans to love as her children.

Through her spiritual servants, capsulled in statues around her world, prayers of love and worship are heard and delivered to the Goddess's ears.

These prayers are spoken by Clerics, people who were born with an exceptional connection to the Goddess' spiritual energy that linger in their world.

When a young Cleric, named Syl, meets Onyx, a Temple Guard, he befriends him. His newly found friendship changed everything. He begins to step outside of the teachings and laws of the Ethion temple. Everything comes to a breaking point when the Temple enforces a mandatory lockdown on the city. With the people of Ethion in the dark about Temple's panic, Onyx takes Syl out of the city.

First Demo Prototype!

We've been doing a lot of work on RECIDIVIA. Along the way, we have made changes to the overall vision for the game. We decided to share with the community free demo of the first prototype. The Prototype doesn't feature everything planned for the game. Think of this prototype as a floor plan for a bigger plan down the road.

Played the short demo. Here are some thoughts:

-Really nice character art and cool looking characters
-You must be big fans of Guts :D
-Good mapping

-There were multiple cases of small spelling/grammar mistakes
-In the intro map dialogue one letter 's' was clipping outside the text box
-In the first cave map you could walk into a blue mushroom on the left side

-The magical attack of the cyborg(?) enemies did barely any damage

-I wouldn't display the item finding message every time if there are multiple items to be picked up on a single map/room
-The boss was kind of brutal. I had to load an earlier save and run past enemies without using any of my healing items, saving them all for the boss, and even then I barely beat it with one character dead and the other with some 50hp remaining
-Would have been cool if you got healing items from killing enemies or if there was a healing spell
-The battles felt kind of plain in the demo, since you only had the protect ability and one spell, and the enemies weren't animated and it just used the basic hit animations. The battles didn't feel on the level of polish of the graphical aspects of the game.

But yeah, you have some cool characters and good visual presentation. Seems like an interesting project. Good luck!

Thanks for you review. Great points that you detailed!
Played the short demo. Here are some thoughts:

-Really nice character art and cool looking characters

Hii, I played your demo and I'm very impressed, you managed to make me like the characters and be curious about the story in a very short time. The banter between the three friends close to the beginning is pretty clever, I can't wait to see more interaction between them!

Here's a few more of my random thoughts that came up while I was playing:
- Gameplay/battles pretty basic so far but I'm sure it'll get better later in the story.
- It's funny that the buff wolf people were so easy compared to the little doggo at the end.
- Mapping looks nice!
- Love the character busts with expressions, makes it more fun to see them interacting when they're so well drawn. Also because all the boys are skimpy. XD
- My biggest complaint is that is was so short, I want to see moooore!

Just tried out your demo on Mac, it was really fun !!

Thoughts:
[ISPOILER]
- The title screen option for "Load Game" seems to have been slightly undercropped (screenshot below)

- The art was really well done for the characters !!
- I'm a sucker for Onyx's design. The hair split .. very memorable + cool looking !!
- There were a few minor grammar errors but nothing too glaring
- The cutscenes were very well done !!
- Also liked the title screen music!
- Battle felt a bit plain but I assume it'll be improved in the final product
- There were loading circles between cutscenes but they didn't last very long
- Story was interesting! Overall a fun demo!

Remove the first 'I' and it should work. Correct syntax is [spoiler*][/spoiler*] (without the * of course).

l didn't bother to make a full video because this was one of the most horrendous combat system ive seen but everything else looks good. just let me know when your battles are better

Magic Healing Circles
Caves, forests, and fields can be a long hike. And the monsters that roam them pose a serious threat. Fortunately, Syl can make use of any Magic Circle he finds to heal his comrades. It's always good to have a Cleric by your side.

so instead of working into fixing your battle system you do a quick print screen with a description similar to the dialogue to artificially bump your thread every week. theres a reason why there are 0 screenshots of the battle system, and it doesn't help you out as most players will quit the game after a few of these. gonna unfollow this game now, take care.

Food for thought. Factorio: Spaghetti belts make your factory inefficient as you fight for space constantly. Satisfactory: Spaghetti belts and massive clipping is the most efficient way to run your factory since it's the shortest distances.

Both Mike and Ray here are in a "HYPE!" state after Mike uses "Wild Party", which also heals everyone. they'll do more damage and counter more often, but defense is lower along with hit rate.

I guess I should send my CV to Hasbro. I've made Monopoly cheaters edition more fun and challenging. I've developed custom cheats and chest/chance cards for it. And I've cleared many nightmares through my cards and rules.
